Anne’s will dated 17 Jan 1778, and probated 2 Aug 1784 in Richmond County, VA, she names her son Robert Hamilton, son John Tayloe Hamilton, daughters Janet Carter, Elizabeth Hamilton and Anne Edwards. Her executors were Mr. Thomas Lawson and Robert Wormeley Carter, witnessed by Landon Carter, Robert Graham and Janet Carter.

Peck & Wife to Porter Indenture
This indenture made this 31st day of January 1792 between John Peck of the County of Richmond and Anne Tasker Peck his wife of the one part and William Dozier Porter of the County of Westmoreland of the other part. Witnesseth that John Peck and Anne Tasker Peck his wife in consideration of 112 pounds 10 shillings current money in hand has sold to William Dozier Porter on tract of land lying in the County of Westmoreland bounded as follows; Beginning at the letter “A” in the plot, the angle of one red and two white oaks marked as a corner between the Honble Robert Carter, Esqr., and the aforesaid John Peck, in the line of Simpson, thence South 3° 45 minutes East crossing the main road leading from Westmoreland to Richmond 118 poles to the letter “B” a red oak corner near the said road and in the line of the aforesaid Robert Carter, Esqr., and John Peck, thence South 74° 45 minutes West along said main road 38 poles to the letter “C” a corner in said road, thence South 78° West along said road 260 poles to the letter “D” in the line of Robert Wormley Carter, Esqr., a corner formed at the junction of the aforesaid main road with another great road leading from Richmond to Nominy, thence North 5° West along the last mentioned line and the road 46 poles to the letter “E” the angle of two hickories and a red oak marked as a corner of the aforesaid Robert Wormley Carter, Esqr., his Hickory Thickett plantation, thence North 83° East with the lines of Yeatman, Rochester and Simpson 298 poles to the beginning containing 150 acres, being part of a tract of 797 acres of land conveyed to the said John Peck by the Honble Robert Carter, Esqr., by his deed of bargain and sale bearing date the 6th day of January 1790. In witness whereof the said John Peck and Anne Tasker Peck have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written.

The commonwealth of Virginia to John Rochester and Willoughby Newton, Gent. Whereas John Peck and Anne Tasker Peck his wife by their indenture of bargain and sale bearing date the 31st day of January 1792 sold and conveyed unto William D. Porter the fee simple estate of 150 acres lying in the Parish of Cople and County of Westmoreland and whereas the said Anne Tasker Peck cannot conveniently travel to our Court of Westmoreland County to make acknowledgement of the said conveyance. Therefore, we do give unto you or any two of you power to receive the acknowledgement which the said Anne Tasker Peck is willing to make. Witness James Bland, clerk of our said court at the courthouse the 23rd day of April 1792.
Westmoreland Sct. By virtue of a commission from the county court of Westmoreland bearing date 23rd day of April 1792 to us directed to take the privy examination of Anne Tasker Peck touching her right of dower to 150 acres of land conveyed to William Porter. We have examined the said Anne Tasker Peck who declared that of her voluntary and free will relinquished her right of dower and was willing the said indenture should be recorded in our court. Given under our hands and seals this 24th day of April 1792.

At a court held for Westmoreland County the 24th day of April 1792 this indenture of bargain and sale and receipt thereon endorsed were acknowledged by John Peck a party thereto and the same being proved in March last by the oath of William Porter, Sr., a witness thereto and together with a commission annexed to take the privy examination of Anne Tasker Peck the wife of John Peck and a certificate of the execution thereof are ordered to be recorded.
