** A William Clift lived near Poe and Bradley in 1794 Caroline Co per Caroline County record: September 1794 From the Fork Road at Trap, [The Trap was the tavern located between Port Royal and Bowling Green. . . ] over Stern’s Mill to the road leading by Meeting House, Mark Bowler, Jr. appointed Overseer on which the hands of William Poe, Sarah Bradley, Mark Bradley, Mark Bowler, William Clift and Samuel McGehee are to work.

Ordered that JOHN PEILL THOMAS MACHEN FOUSHEE TEBBS and BERTRAND EWELL or any three of them being sworn Inventory and appraise the Estate of Nathaniel Triplet deceased in current money and that the Administrator return the same to the Court

19 July. 1753. John Triplet of Culpeper County to Thomas Triplet of same. Partition of 515 and 300 acres.
William Triplet, late of Prince William County, in his life time had by deeds of lease and release 5-6 Nov. 1733 purchased of Augustine Smith 515 acres and also 300 acres purchased of Augustine Smith by deeds of lease and release 18-19 Aug. 1735 and William Triplet by his last will and testament recorded in the County Court of Prince William did give the two tracts then being in Orange County now called Culpeper) to his three sons John Triplet, Thomas Triplet and Nathaniel Triplet to be equally divided between them. Nathaniel, one of the devisees, having departed this life intestate and under age, the part belonging to him descended and became the estate of John Triplet as his heir at law and elder brother.
To John Triplet the tract of 515 acres.
To Thomas Triplet the tract of 300 acres.

15 Aug. 1753. John Triplet and Lucy his wife of St. Mark's Parish, Culpeper County, to William Green of same. For £44 current money. 44 acres, part of 515 acres bequeathed together with another tract containing 300 acres to John Triplet and his brothers Thomas and Nathaniel Triplet by their father William Triplet and Nathaniel having since his father's decease departed this life under age and without making any division, Nathaniel Triplet's part descended to John and Thomas Triplet who have since by their deed of partition July 1753 agreed that the 515 acres should be held by John Triplet and the 300 acres by Thomas, as by the will of William Triplet recorded in the County Court of Prince William and the deed of partition may more fully appear ... in a small branch ... on a bank of Mountain Run on the northeast side ... on the bank of the run opposite to the mouth of a branch which empties into the run at the upper end of John Field's land ... west side of the road ... along the road side ... crossing an old field ...
