      WILLIAM BLACKWELL (Will) Date:. 20 September 1772
      Son: William - all the land I Bought of Alexander Clement, Christopher Marr, Humphrey Evan and Thomas Hudnall, with some other Lands I had of Col. William Eustace, on my said son William
      Son: giving to my son Joseph 700 acres of Land out of the Deed I acknowledged to my said son William
      in Fauquier Court but if he should refuse so to do, then I give all the above mentioned Land to William, to my son Joseph - if Joseph should die all land to William
      Children: The track of Land given me by his Hon'r. John Tayloe Esq'r. I desire may be sold and the Cash
      to be equally divided between my Children hereafter named, to wit: Samuel, John, William, Joseph, Hannah, Sarah and Lucy.
      Son: William - land I had of John Crump - if any damages should happen against Estate by a bond I am Security in with the said Crump to William Hambleton
      Wife: Elizabeth - have the use of all my Negroes & personal Estate during her life or widowhood only my son William to have his choice of any one of my Negroes at anytime when he shall demand it - all the furniture of my Hall
      Son: John - L50 - after wife's death all property to be divided among the following: Samuel, William, Joseph, Hannah, Sarah & Lucy, my other children that is married off is excluded from having any part of my Estate
      except the L50 to John they having their parts paid off

      A Commission of the Peace bearing date WILLIAMSBURG the Seventh day of May last under the Seal of the Colony as a Dedimus Potestatem for administering the Oaths directed to THOMAS HARRISON, JOSEPH BLACKWELL, JOHN WRIGHT, WILLIAM BLACKWELL, JOHN FROGG, JOHN BELL, WILLIAM EUSTACE, JOHN CHURCHHILL, WILLIAM GRANT, JOHN CRUMP, DUFF GREEN, YELVERTON PEYTON, THOMAS MARSHALL, GEORGE LAMBKIN, WHARTON RANSDALL, ELIAS EDMONDS, THOMAS McCLANAHAN and RICHARD FOOTE, Gent., or any four or more of them whereof any of them, the said THOMAS HARRISON. JOSEPH BLACKWELL, JOHN WRIGHT, WILLIAM BLACKWELL, JOHN FROGG, JOHN BELL, WILLIAM EUSTACE, JOHN CHURCHHILL or WILLIAM GRANT should be one were read by virtue of the Dedimus Potestatem, the said THOMAS HARRISON having first taken the Oaths appointed to be taken by Act of Parliament instead of the Oaths of Allegiance and Supremacy the Oath appointed to be taken by an Act of Parliament made in the first year of the Reign of his late Majesty, King George the first, our Royal Father Intituled, "An Act for the Further Security of his Majestys Person and Government and the Succession of the Crown in the Heirs of the late Princess Sophia, being Protestants, and for extinguishing the hopes of the pretended Prince of Wales and his open and secret Abettors," also the Test together with the Oath of a Justice of the Peace and the Oath of a Justice of the County Court in Chancery which said Oaths were administered to him by the said YELVERTON PEYTON and THOMAS MARSHALL; And then the said THOMAS HARRISON administered all the before mentioned Oaths to the said WILLIAM BLACEWELL, WILLIAM EUSTACE, JOHN CHURCHHILL, WILLIAM GRANT, YELVERTON PEYTON, THOMAS MARSHALL and GEORGE LAMKIN, who made and subscribed the Test

      - JOSEPH BLACKWELL Esqr., produced a Commission from his Honor the Governor under the Seal of the Colony appointing him SHERIF of this County and the said JOSEPH BLACKWELL having with WILLIAM BLACKWELL and WILLIAM EUSTACE, his Securitys, entered into and acknowledged Bond as the Law directs, took the usual Oaths to his Maiestys Person and Government and subscribed the Test and then had the Oath of a Sherif administered to him.
