Will of William Hardwick of Westmoreland County in the parish of Copley, being sick and weak in body, dated 31 Oct. 1718.
My wife should have a third part of my estate if the law will not slow it.
To my son James my bigest still, worm and tubb, a young sorrell horse and my best gun, my dwelling house plantation and the 200 of land.
To my daughter Frances the next bigest still, worm and tubb and a young gray mare.
To my wife Eliza. and my son George the next bigest still, worm and tubb.
My son George and daughter Dorcus is to stay with my wife till they are the age of sixteen years old.
I leave my son James at age immediately after my decease. My wife and my son James executors.

Son William land I live on; son Joseph land adjoining; dau. Lydia Hardwick a caudle cup, ring and land; son Joseph silver hilted sword and belt given me by Capt. William Hardwick ; my wife's dau. Ann one shilling; dau. Lydia to remain with my son William until age of 14; personal estate to wife Ann and children Joseph, Lydia, Thomas and James; my brother Joseph Hardwick.

The last will and testament of James Hardwick was proved by Thomas Thompson and Charles Smith, a probat granted to Wm. Hardwick, executor therein named, and. John Wright and Elias Morris, securities, ordered to enter into bond. It is ordered Wm. Hardwick doe return a true inventory. It is also ordered that Benjamin Blanchflower, Joseph Hardwick, Henry Astbury„ John Wright and Elias Morrice appraise the estate.

The last Will and Testament of WILLIAM HARDWICK, decd. was presented into Court by ELIZABETH his relict and Exorx. [JAMES son of the decd. being a minor and under age to accept or refuse the Executorship being appointed with the said ELIZABETH] and being proved by the oaths of JOSEPH HARDWICK & AARON HARDWICK two of the witnesses thereto is admitt to record and upon mocon of the said ELIZABETH a Certificate is granted her for obtaining a Probate thereof in due form. Ordered WILLIAM FRYER, JOHN FRYER, WILLIAM LYNTON & COLEMAN READ or any three of them being first sworn before his Majesties Justices for the said County doe some time before the next Court to be held for the County aforesaid value and appraise
the Estate of the said Testator in money and made report thereof to the said Court.

JOSEPH HARDWICK of the Parish ofCopIe in the County aforesd, being called in question about the death ofHESTER PACE ofthe Parish and County aforesaid late Servant to JAMES HARDWICK, Brother ofthe said JOSEPH, after reading the Coroner's Inquest, Examination ofJOSEPH HARDWICK touching the fact and WILLIAM HARDWICK and ELIZABETH his Wife Evidences for our Sovereigne Lady the Queen in that behalf, it is the oppinion ofthe Court JOSEPH HARDWICK is baylable and do therefore admitt him to bayle for his appeareance before the Honble Mr. President and Councill at the next Generall Court on the fourth day thereofin order to his Tryall for the fact aforesd. WILLIAM HARDWICK and JASPER HARDWICK both of the Parish and County aforesd joyntly and severally recognizing to our Sovereign Lady the Queen in the sume offifty pounds sterling for that the said JOSEPH's personall appeareance then and there to appeare and answer he same, and to stand and abide the award ofthe Court thereon or in desent thereof the above recognizance to bee and remaine in full force, &c.
