Will of Dorcas Jordan of the Parish of Cople and County of Westmoreland, being sick and weak of body, dated 25 Oct. 1708.
Unto my grandson Patrick Spence, son and heir of Alexr. Spence. Gent., deceased, old Bess and young Betty daughter to Peggy, my large silver tankard and tumbler, the bed and furniture and bedstead in the Hall Chamber.
To Jordan Weedon a Negro man Harry.
To Mary Weedon sister to Jordan Weedon, now wife to the son of Bunch Roe, a Negro man Jack.
To Dorcas Sanford daughter to my eldest daughter Elizabeth Sturman two Negroes Minro [and] Pegg.
To my grandson Patrick Spence son to Patrick Spence, deceased, one Negro man Prince.
To my daughter Jane Spence Negro woman Rose, choice young cow and calf.
To my daughter Ellenor Munroe two parts of all my estate, that whereas there is thirteen grandchildren, to be divided into fifteen parts and Ellenor Munroe to have two of them.
All the rest of my estate in Virginia and England to be divided as above equally between my daughter and my grandchildren, at the discretion of my three trusty friends hereafter mentioned.
To every one of my three friends twenty shillings a piece to buy each a ring.

My three trusty and well friends Mr. John Sturman, Mr. John Higgins and Mr. Lawrence Pope, executors.

4 Nov. 1708. Codicil: Wm. Moxley Senr. shall have a good suit of cloathes of good cloth, hatt, shirt, shoes, stockens.
The two parts given to my daughter of the fifteen, after her death to be divided amongst her children.
To Mr. Saml. Gray, Clerk, four yards and a half of black broad cloth now in the house.
All my wearing linen and other wearing apparel be equally divided between Jemima Pope, Anna Sturman Senr., and Anna Sturman Junr. There is eleven yards of new dewcape silk; jerima Pope have five of it and the other two women each of them three.
Unto my son in law John Sturman a pair of silk stockens and a pair of Spanish leather shoes.
To Mr. Semi. Gray another pair of the like.

IN THE NAME OF GOD Amen. I HENRY ROE of Washington Parish in the County of Westmoreland being sick & weak of body but of perfect sence & memory thanks be to God for the same. I do make & Ordain this to be my Last Will & Testament in manner & form following. First. I surrender my Soul into the hands of God that gave it me and my body to the earth to he buryed in a decent & Chrimpian like manner at the discrecon of my Exr. hereafter menconed; And as for the worldly Estate which God path been pleased to bestow on me I give & bequeath as followeth:
Imprs, I give & bequeath unto my Son, BUNCH ROE, the one half of my Land on the South side of my Land with my Home Plantacon to him & the heirs of his body lawfully begotten for ever, and for want of such heirs, to my Son, HENRY ROE, & the heirs of his body lawfully begotten for ever; And for want of such heirs to my Daughter, SUSANNA ROE & the heirs of her body lawfully begotten for ever, and for want of for heirs. to my Daughter, SARAH ROE. and the heirs of her body lawfully begotten tor ever; and for want of such heirs to my Daughter. ELIZABETH ROE, & the heirs of her body lawfully begotten for ever: And for want of such heirs to my Daughter, MARY ROE and the heirs of her boy lawfully begotten for ever; and for want of such heirs. to the next heir at Law
Item. I give & bequeath unto my Son, HENRY ROE, the other half of my land lying on the North side to him and the heirs of his body lawfully begotten for ever, & for want of such heirs to my Son. BUNCE ROE, & the heirs of his body lawfully begotten for ever; and for want. of such heirs to my Daughter, SUSANNA ROE, & the heirs of her body lawfully begotten fore ver: and for want of such heirs to my Daughter SARAH ROE and the heirs of her body lawfully begotten for ever; And for the want of such heirs to my Daughter. ELIZABETH ROE and the heirs of her body lawfully begotten for ever; And for want of such heirs to my Daughter, MARY ROE, and the heirs of her body lawfully begotten for ever: and for want of such heirs to the next heir at Law.
It is my will & desire that ROBERT STEPHENS and ELIZABETH his Wife should live on the Plantacon he now lives on the space of ten years from the date of this my Will, begining at the Branch about one hundred yards below the dwelling House he now lives in & so up the main Branch and that the sd. ROBERT STEPHENS and ELIZABETH his Wife do pay yearly & every year five hundred pounds of tobacco to be paid to my Exr. hereafter menconed and that the Rents of my land should be laid out to help maintain my Children

SARAH ROE, ELIZABETH ROE & MARY ROE: And it is my will & desire that my two Sons. BUNCH ROE & HENRY ROE shall be of age when they arrived to the age of eighteen years and my Daughters when they arrive to the age of sixteen years or day of Marriage
Item. I make constitute & appoint my loving Brother, BUNCE ROE to be my Exrs. of this my Last Will & Testament and do hereby revoke disannull & make void all other Will or Wills by me formerly made ratifieing confirming this to be my Last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand & fiat my seal this 21st day of November 1725

Bunch [W]Roe of Westmoreland County, planter, with the consent of my wife Elizabeth, to William Thompson, Clerk, of Washington Parish. For 7000 pounds of tobacco. 100 acres in Washington Parish on Potomack River near to Mattox Creek, bound southerly upon the land of Capt. John Scott, westerly upon the land of Thomas Bowcock, easterly upon the line of Andrew Monroe formerly now in the possession of me the said Bunch, and of William Munroe being the southermost part of land granted to me by the Lord Proprietors.
