      1791-1803 Will Book D Culpeper Co Va
      IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN I ELEANOR GREEN's of the Parish of St. Mark and County of Culpeper in the state of Virginia being aged and infirm but of sound mind and memory as usual Thanks be to Almighty God for that blessing calling to mind the uncertainty of this life do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following to wit, Principally and first of all I do with all humility and contrition for my past offences recommena my soul to almighty God who gave it my body I bequeath to Earth from whence it came therein to be decently Interred at the discretion of my Executors and as for my worldly goods & effects I dispose of in the manner and form following.
      1st It is my desire that my funeral Expences and just debts be first satisfyed and paid. 2ndly I give and bequeath to my Son ROBERT GREEN to him his heirs forever all my part of the land which myself and other plaintiffs are at Law for with the Late LORD FAIRFAX and other Defts on Shenando River and the waters thereof when the said Land shall be recovered together with all damages which may hereafter be recovered as all money that may hereafter appear to be due from the other parties from any sales that they may have made and covented the money to their use as also all other advantage or advantages that may hereafter appear to be due or arrise from the said lands I give and bequeath likewise to my aforesaid Son Robert Green his heirs & assigns forever.
      3dly I give and bequeath to my aforesaid son Robert Green all the stock of Hogs that I may be possest of at the time of my death likewise all kind of crops that I may then have in the ground and unfurnished to him my said son Robert his heirs & assigns forever.
      4thly I give and bequeath to my Grand Daughter ELEANOR DUFF my riding mare also my side saddle Mourning Ring describing the time of my Son DUFF GREENs death.
      5thly I give and bequeath to my three sons now living Viz. ROBERT GREEN, JOHN GREEN & JAMES GREEN all the remaining part of my Estate to be equally divided among them their heirs and assigns forever.
      6thly And Lastly I do hereby appoint my three sons Robert Green, John Green & James Green Executors of this my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand affixed my seal this nineteenth day of May in the year of our Lord 1794

      At a Court held for Culpeper County the 16th day of December 1793
      This Last Will and Testament of Eleanor Green decd was exhibited to the Court and was partly proved by the Oath of John Strode one of the Witnesses thereto & ordered to be certified and at a Court held for the said County the 20th day of January 1794 This Will was fully proved by the oath of Isaac Herrin another witness thereto & ordered to be recorded. And at a Court held for said County the 17th day of February 1794 James Green one of the Executors therein named in this Will came into Court & on his motion Certificate is granted him for obtaining a probat thereof in due form he having made oath thereto & given bond & security according to Law; Liberty being reserved for the other Executors named in this Will to qualify when they may think fit.
