      The Landing Place (Neale Clarke) 9/25/1663 - 50/31 acres. L5/597 SR7347.
Know yee that we for and in consideration that Neale Clarke, Planter, of this Province
hath due unto him fifty acres of land in this Province the remainder of a warrant granted
for five hundred acres of land to William Jones, assignee of the said Clarke and another
fifty acres of land granted unto the s'd Clarke by Nathaniel Dolphin and also another
fifty acres granted unto the s'd Clarke for Transporting John Stimson (Note: who later
married Clarke 's widow Rachel Beard Clarke), Anno 1650, into this Province here to
inhabit. And, upon such considerations and terms as are exprefsed in our Conditions of
Plantation of our Province of Maryland do grant unto the s'd Neale Clark a parcell of
land called The Landing Place lying in Ann Arrundall County and on the north side of
South River, adjoining to his plantation he now liveth upon (Nealson). Begins at a
marked Pine being the northernmost bound tree of the said plantation and running for
breadth up the river. Note 1: This grant conveys The Landing Place (50 acres) and
Turkey Quarter (150 acres) for a total of 200 acres. However, the "rights" as stated in
the patent document add up to only 150 acres. No explanation found Note 2 (from MSA
Tract Index 73): Sold to Thomas Reynolds for 140 lbs sterling in 1704.
