      IN THE NAME OF GOD, Amen, the fifteenth day of Octo: Anno Domini one thousand seven hundred & thirty two, I DANIEL BONUM of County of Westmorland in the Coloney of Virginia being of sound and perfect mind and memmory thanks be to God Almighty for the same, doe make this my Last Will & Testament in manner and form following; revokeing and absolutely annulling all and every Will or Wills heretofore by me made either by word or Righting and this only to be my Last Will & Testament and none other;
      First, I give my Soul to God yt: gave itt and my Body to the Earth fromwhence itt came to be buryed in such decent and Christian manner as my Executor hereafter mentioned shall see convenient, trusting through the meritts of my blessed Saviour Jesus Christ to find free pardon for all my sins,
      I give bequeath and devise to my Son, SAMUEL BONUM, all that tract of land whereon I now live being One hundred ninty six acres, to him my sd. Son, SAMLL. BONUM, and the heirs of his body lawfully begfotten, and for want of such heirs, then I give ye sd. Land to my Nephew, THOMAS BONUM, and his heirs for ever;
      Also, I give bequeath and devise to my Son, SAMUEL BONUM, five Negroes, vizt, Anthony, Will, Amey„jone and Sam and their Increase to him and the heirs of his body lawfully begotten, and for want of such heirs, then I give ye said Negroes and their Increase to be equally devided between my two Nephews, SAMLL: BONUM and THOMAS BONUM. and their heirs for ever;
      Also I give bequeath and devise to my Son, SAMUEL BONUM, a large Gold Ring which was my Mothers;
      Also I give bequeath and devise to my Loveing Wife, SARAH BONUM, the Negro girle named Bess to her and her heirs for ever;
      Also I give to my sd. Wife two other Negroes, vizt. Mingo and Moll to her dureing her natural life and after her decease then I give ye sd. Negros, Mingo and Moll and their increase to my Son, SAMUEL BONUM and the heirs of his body lawfully begotten and for want of such heirs, then I give ye sd, Negroes and their Increase to be equally devided betweene my two Nephews, SAMLL, and THOMAS BONUM and their heirs for ever;
      Also I give bequeath and devise all the rest of my personall Estate to be equally devided betweene my loveing Wife, SARAH BONUM, and my Son, SAMUEL BONUM, and to theire heirs for ever, after ye payment of all my just debts, arch : I desire may be first paid.
      Also I give bequeath and devise unto my loveing Wife my now dwelling House and one third part of my land to be laide off adjoineing to the sd. House on one side of the Land for and dureing her naturall life; Also what I have given to my Wife is full satisfaction of all Dowers, Thirds, Childs parts or any other Widows Claimes what ever. my meaning is yt: ye Tobacco House & Quarter shall not be in my Wife's part;
      And it is also my Will & desire that my good Friend, WILLOUGHBY NEWTON, take care of my Son, SAMLL. BONUM and his Estate untill he arives to ye age of twenty years old at wch: time it is my desire yt: my Son shall receive his Estate and not before, And Lastly I make ordaine constitute & appoint my sd.       IN THE NAME OF GOD. Amen. I SAMUEL BONUM of the Parish of ST. STEVENS in County of NORTHUMBERLAND being weak of body but of sound memory, do make this my Last Will and Testament in manner as follows; And first of all I recommend my Soul to God that gave it and committ my body to the earth from which it came to be buryed at the discretion of my Executor hereafter named: And as for what worldly Estate it hath pleased God to bestow upon Ime, I give and devise in manner following;
      that is. I desire that all my just Debts be duly paid.
      Item. I give all my Lands to my Son, SAMUEL BONUM, and the ussue of his body lawfully to be begotten and for what of such issue. I give the same to the Child or Children that my Wife goes withall, and to the issue of their body or bodies lawfully to be begotten and for want of such to my right heires for ever:
      Item. I give to my said Son. SAMUEL. my writing black Walnutt Desk and a Silver Tumbler;

      And all the rest of my Estate of what nature or kind soever, I give and devise to be equally divided amongst my loving Wife, ELIZABETH BONUM, my Son. SAMUEL BONUM and the Child or Children my Wife now goes with
      Item I committ the Guardianship and tuition of my son, SAMUEL BONUM, as also of the Child or Children my Wife goes withall when born to the care and management of my Uncle, GEORGE ESKRIDGE. till they come of full age, And I doe hereby make, ordain constitute and appoint the said ESKRIDGE to be my whole and sole Executors of this my Last.       IN THE NAME OF GOD, Amen, I PHILPOT BONUM of Cople Parish and Westmoreland County being sick and weak of body but of sound and perfect mind and memory, praised be God for the same, do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following, vizt., First, I bequeath my Soul into the hands of Almighty God my Maker, hopeing through the meritorious death and passion of Jesus Christ my only Saviour and Redeemer to receive free pardon and forgiveness of all my sins: And as for my body to be buried in Christian burial at the discretion of my Ears. hereafter nominated, And as for touching such worldly goods and Estate as God of his great mercy hath bestowed on me farr beyond my deserts, do give and bequeath them in manner and form as followeth;
      Imprimis. I give and bequeath to my well beloved Brother, DANIELL BONUM, one Negro man called Sam and one Negro girl called Jone, to him the said DANIEL and his heirs for ever:
      Item, i give and bequeath to my aforesaid Brother. DANIELL BONUM. all the rite title property and intent that I have in or to that parcel! or tract of land left to me by my deced, Father, to him my said Brother his heirs for ever;
      Item. I give and bequeath unto my well beloved Wife, ROSE BONUM. three Negroes, vizt. James, lack & Nan, for and dureing her natural! live and after her decease the aforesaid three Negroes I give to my two Brothers. SAMUEL and DANIEL BONUN, and their heirs for ever:
      Item, I give all the rest of my Negroes. vizt., Will. Mingo, Amos. Moll. Phillis and George to my aforesaid two Brothers, SAMUEL and DANIEL BONUM, to be equally divided between them to them and their heirs for ever:
      Item. I give and bequeath to my well beloved Wife, ROSE BONUM, one Horse Colt which now follow the young black Mare
      Item. I give and bequeath unto SAMUEL BONUM, one Trumpet Muzzle Gun;
      hem I give and bequeath unto RICHARD PARTRIDGE one thousand pounds of tobacco to be paid to him by my Executors hereafter named
      Item. I give and bequeath unto JAMES THOMAS, one pair of saddle bags now in his possession and twenty shillngs current money to be paid him by my Executors here after named.

My wife's clothes, 2 amber necklaces, 1 pearl necklace, a locket and other jewelry to Sarah Baker daughter of John Baker to whom I leave a slave; my deceased wife; bro. Capt. George Eskridge 1 horse; nephew Samuel Bonam 1 negro man and boy and one-third of goods in store; nephew Daniel Bonam same bequest; to nephew Philpott Bonam the same as his brothers and also my lands.

      Unto Sarah Baker, daughter of Mr. John Baker of the county aforesaid, the wearing apparrell both linnen and woollen which was my deceased wife's, together with a seal skin trunk, two amber necklaces, one pearl necklace, one lockett, one gold ring sett with stones and my loving wife's wedding ring, a little painted cabinett, a young roan mare and her colt with the side saddle, bridle and whip that my said wife usually rode with, one good feather bed and furniture, six ewes and lambs, two cows and calves and four heifers as also my Negro woman Winney, a Negro boy her son called Tom, all which except the bed and furniture, trunk and cattle I will be delivered to her father imediately after my decease and the residue at such time as she shall attain the age of eighteen or day of marriage.
      To John Baker all my wearing apparrell as also the use of my slave named James King (and the benefit of his labour for ten yeares from the time of the finishing the crop he shall be employed in at the time of my decease).
      To my brother Capt. George Eskridge my horse called Prince and my new watch.
      To my friend Thomas Sorrell my silver headed cane with those letters engraved on it TB, together with my old watch.
      To my nephew Samuel Bonam my Negro man Phill and my Negro boy Samuel, as also one third part of what new goods shall be found in my store. Also my violin and stick.
      To my nephew Daniel Bonam my Negro man called Anthony and my Negro boy named William, as also one other third part of what new goods shall be found in my store at the time of my decease. Also my long gunn called broad ax.
      My loving friend John Murffey do at such time as he shall
      think convenient purchase one Negro slave to be paid for by my executrix for the use and behoof of Murffey, not to exceed £30 sterling price.
      To my nephew Philpott Bonam the plantation whereon I now dwell, provided my nephew Philpott Bonam and his heirs doe make over all his right of the land to him devised by his deceased father unto his brother Dann. Bonam.
      To James son of Thomas Sorrell my young spade mare.
      All the rest of my estate unto my nephew Philpott Bonam
      and doe nominate him executor.
      My friend John Murffey do live with my nephew Philpott Bonam on my plantation untill he shall attaine the age of twenty one yeares and appoint Murffey my trustee or overseer to look after and manage the estate bequeathed to Philpott to his best advantage and benefitt till he attains the above age, desiring him not to permitt Philpott to buy, sell, truck or trade with any part of the estate without his permission and approbation.

      THIS INDENTURE made this twenty second day of July in the tenth year of the Reign of our Soveraign Lord George by the grace of God of Great Britain, France & Ireland, King, Defender of, the faith &c„ Annoque Dmi, 1724. Between PHILPOT BONAM of the Parish of Cople in the County of Westmoreland, Planter, of one part, and DANIEL BONAM of the Parish and County aforesaid, Planter, of the other part; Whereas SAMUEL BONAM. late of the Parish & County aforesaid by his Last Will & Testament in writeing baring date the 14th day of February 1702/3 (inter alia) did give & bequeath to his three Sons. SAMUEL. PHILPOT and DANIEL, his tract of Land containing two hundred eighty eight acres to them his sd. Sons & their heires for ever to be equally divided amongst them. And Whereas THOMAS BONAM, late of the Parish & County aforesaid, Gent.. deced., by his Last Will & Testament in writeing bearing date the 18th day of November 1717 (inter alia) did give & bequeath to the aforesaid PHILPOT BONAM & to his heires the Plantacon land & appurtenances whereon I now dwell. Provided my said Nephew, PHILPOT BONAM & his heires, do & shall in due form of Law make over all & singular his right title interest & Estate of & in the land to him devised by his said Father unto his Brother the aforenamed DANIEL BONAM, so as the said DANIEL and his heires may enjoy the same for ever &c,. as in & by the aforesd. Will on the Records of Westmoreland County may more fully appear.
      NOW THIS INDENTURE Witnesseth that PHILPOT BONAM as well as in consideracon of the Legacy so as abovesaid to him by the sd. THOMAS BONAM given & bequeathed as also for & in consideracon of the natural love & affection which he hath & beareth to his said Brother, DANIEL BONAM, by these presents doth give and make over unto DANIEL BONAM all that his the said PHILPOTs share or porcon of the two hundred eighty & eight acres of land so as abovemenconed to the aforesaid SAMUEL PHILPOT & DANIEL by their said Father, SAMUEL BONAM is given & bequeathed, which part or porcon of land is bounded. Begining at a Stake nigh POTOMACK RIVER side standing in a So. 56d. East course from a Cedar near the moth of POTOMACK CREAK & 130 pole distant from the Cedar runing thence So. 42d W, 150 poles to a Stake in the line of Mr. SAMUEL BONAMs part or porcon of the said land, thence along the said BONAMs line So. 38d. East 60 poles to a Stake at a Ditch side near a markt, Gum, thence No 63d. East along the said Ditch to a Marsh & POTOMACK RIVER, thence along the POTOMACK, to the begining; containing ninety six acres be the same more or less scituate in the Parish & County aforesaid and the rents issues and profitts thereof with all houses orchards & appurtenances belonging: To have and to hold the land premisses with appurtenances unto DANL: BONAM and his heires free and clear from all incumbrances and PHILPOT BONAM his heirs against the claim of all manner of persons shall warrant and by these presents for ever defend.       DW 8-23, 7/2/1724, 7/29/1724 PHILPOTT BONUM to DANIEL BONUM. Whereas SAMUEL BONUM by will of 2/14/1702 gave to his three sons SAMUEL, DANIEL & PHILPOTT 288 acres, and whereas Thomas Bonum, by his will gave Philpott his plantation, Philpott, in consideration of that legacy gives Daniel his share, 96 acres, of the 288 acres. Beginning at a stake on the Potomac . .
