      THIS INDENTURE made the 13th day of July 1692 Between JOHN FOSAKER & ELIZABETH his Wife of the one part and DAVID DARNELL of the other part both parties residing in Richmond County in the Dominion of Virginia, Witnesseth that for the sum of Ten thousand pounds of Tobb: in hand payed the sd JOHN FOSAKER & ELIZABETH his Wife have sold unto DAVID DARNELL his heirs & assigns forever one tract of land conteyning & layed out for Six hundred acres being part of a greater tract granted by Patent to JOHN & GEO. MOTT, Brothers, wch, Patent bears date Septembr, 1670, the sd GEORGE being Father to the abovesd. ELIZABETH, Wife of JOHN FOSAKER, which sd GEO: MOTT having Four Daughters, ELIZABETH, MARGARETT, ANN & ELLEN, did by his Last Will & Testament give his moyety & party of the abovesd lands to be equally divided amongst his Daughters and to confirme & ratifie the abovesd. Will of GEO MOTT, JOHN MOTT, Eldest Brother & Survivour, did by his last Will & Testament give and bequeath unto the abovesd. Foure Daughters of GEO: MOTT all his land being the other moyety of the abovesd. tract granted by Patent Septembr: 1670; all wch : will more at large appeare recourse being had to both the sd Wills as proved & recorded in the Records of RAPPAHANNOCK County Court. THORNTON, & extending alonge the line North West to three Hickorys in the land of Mr. WHITEHEAD, thence aloage the sd WHITEHEADs line North East to a Poplar by a small branch of POTOMACK, thence South East to a small red Oake neer a PATH, at the head of a Valley, thence South West to the first menconed station with all its rights & appurtenances together with all houses, gardens, orchards, woods & appurtenances to the sd messuage or tract of land or to any part of it belonging To have & to hold the said tract of land hereby sold to him the sd WM. FITZHUGH his heirs & assigns forever, And wee the sd JOHN GLENDENNING & ANN for our selves our heirs the sd landbefore granted wth: the appurtenances to him he sd WM.       TO ALL XPIAN PEOPLE to whom these pr:sens may or shall come I JOHN GLENDENNING of Richmond County in the NORTHERN NECK & Dominion of Virginia and ANN my Wife for diverse good causes us thereunto moving, but more especially for the valuable sum of Three thousand pounds of good merchantable tobacco in casks by us in hand already received of DANIELL McCARTY of the same County in Virginia aforesaid have granted unto the said DANIELL McCARTY One hundred sixty acres of Land being in Richmond County aforesaid on the North side of Rappahannock River, being part of Six hundred & forty acres adjoyning to that part of the devident or tract of Land belonging to Mrs. ELIZABETH MOTT part & bounded as followeth (vizt) Beginning at a Hickory standing on a Hill side being former tree to the said Mrs. ELIZA: MOTT & extending thence North Eighty pollsto a Gum on a Hill side corner tree to the said, thence North fifty eight degrees West 120 polls to Gum on the West side of a Branch, thence up the said Branch North ten degrees Easterly Twenty five poll to another Gum in the said Branch, thence North Northwest one hundred & Seaventy perches to a red Oaks on a Hill side, thence South 324 perches to a red Oak by a Marshy Slash being corner tree to his Sister, ELINORs, part, thence alonge her line East 130 perches to the first menconed Hickory on a Hill side together with all its rights & appurtenances belonging unto him the said DANLL. MACARTY. To have and to hold & quietly & peaceably occupie & enjoy with the bounds & limits before expressed forever with warranty against the claimes of any manner of persons whatsoever & will at all times hereafter award & save harmless the said DANIEL MACARTY his heires & assignes in quiott & peaceable possession of the same, the Quitrents wch: shall from henceforth arise & grow due & payable only excepted and further I the said JOHN GLENDENNING and ANN my Wife do hereby promise that at any reasonable time after delivery of these presents that I & ANN my Wife at the reasonable request of the said DANIELL MACARTY shall make any further conveyance in the Law for the more perfect confirmacon hereof as shall be by said DANIELL MACARTY his heires or Council learned in the Law be reasonably required whereby the above said One hundred & sixty acres of Land hereby granted may remaine to the only use & proper behoof of the said DANIELL MACARTY & his heires. JOHN GLENDENNING & ANN his Wife by an Authentick Deed of Sale bearing date the 27th: of March 1697, unto the said SIMON THOMASIN his heires Ezecutrs: & Admstrs: together with the said Deed forever, To have hold occupie & quietly & peacably possess & enjoy the said tract of Land & Deed before menconed with warranty against the claime or claimes of me the said DANLL.       and 366 acres of this divident ... over certain branches issuing out of the river ... including a neck of land as by the patent 20 Nov. 1674 ... granted to James Harrison, John Bowsee and Elizabeth, Margaret, Ann and Ellen Motts, but by the death of Bowsee and Margaret it became the inheritance of James Harrison, Elizabeth the wife of John Fossaker now deceased, Ann the wife of John Glendening and Eleaner the widow of Richard Shippy, deceased, which were Elizabeth, Ann and Eleaner Motts.
