EXTRACTS FROM THE VIRGINIA GAZETTE FOR 1755-1756

Whereas Mr. Philip Aylett, late of the County of King William, died possessed of a considerable estate,
but, being much indebted, none of his executors would accept the trust reposed in them by his will, nor hath
any person yet applied for administration of his estate; by which means the salves are unemployed and the whole estate is daily diminishing: - These are therefore to inform the creditors, that if they will send an account
of their demands against the estate to Mr. Thomas Dansie, of the said county, who is appointed Guardian
to Mr. Aylett's children, and will agree not to take executions against the estate until next June, he will
take administration of the estate, and sell the slaves and remainder of the estate at Christmas ... (lAg55:
      41; 8Ag55:41)
