THIS INDENTURE TRIPARTITE made this day of (blank) in year one thousand seven hundred and Eighty (blank) Between CHARLES WASHINGTON and MILDRED his Wife, late of Town of Fredericksburg of the first part; BURGESS BALL and FANNY his Wife of the second part; And ROBERT FORSYTH of the third part. Whereas CHARLES WASHINGTON Esqr. being seized in fee of two certain lotts of land known in the plan of the Town of Fredericksburg by the numbers (70) and (80) and being so seized for a valuable consideration him thereunto moving make over the two Lofts aforesd. to the aforesaid BURGESS BALL, which said two Lotts the said BURGESS BALL before a Conveyance had from the said CHARLES WASHINGTON for the sum of money hereafter mentioned did agree to sell unto the said ROBERT FORSYTH. Now this Indenture witnesseth that the said CHARLES WASHINGTON and MILDRED his Wife for value received and divers other good causes and the said BURGESS BALL and FANNY his Wife for Two hundred and fifty pounds current money to them paid by ROBERT FORSYTH have granted unto the said ROBERT FORSYTH his heirs and assigns forever; To have & to hold the said two Lotts and premisses with all appurtenances belonging and the said CHARLES WASHINGTON and BURGESS BALL each for himself and his heirs do warrant that the said ROBERT FORSYTH his heirs shall peaceably enjoy the said two Lotts clear from molestation of them and their heirs and every other person. In Witness whereof the said CHARLES WASHINGTON and MILDRED his Wife and BURGESS BALL and FANNY his Wife have sett their hands and seals

THIS INDENTURE made this Eleventh day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty four Between WILLIAM FITZHUGH of CHATTAM, formerly of SOMERSET, WILLIAM FITZHUGH of MARMION, JOSEPH JONES, LEWIS WILLIS, JOHN SKINKER & CHARLES WASHINGTON Esqrs., of the one part & THOMAS NORMAN & JOHN NORMAN of Culpeper of the other part; Whereas by an Act of the General Assembly passed on the Seventh year of the Reign of George the third King of Great Britain, certain lands whereof CHARLES CARTER Esqr., of KING GEORGE County was seized in Tail male were vested in the (those first named) and in FIELDING LEWIS & WILLIAM ROLLERSON, since deceased, and the Survivors of them in fee simple in Trust for certain purposes in the said Act mentioned, And Whereas the said Trustees did bargain and sell a certain parcel of said land situate in County of Culpeper & containing Two hundred & nineteen acres to a certain JOSEPH NORMAN, since deceased, being the same whereon he then lived, but failed to make him a proper Deed for the same; And Whereas said JOSEPH NORMAN intended by his last Will to devise the same to the said THOMAS and JOHN NORMAN, two of his Sons in fee, Nov This Indenture Witnesseth that (that the Trustees before named) for and in consideration of as well the sum of Two hundred pounds current money of Virginia to them in hand paid by THOMAS & JOHN NORMAN, by these presents do bargain & sell unto THOMAS & JOHN NORMAN & to their heirs the parcel of land aforesaid bounded, Beginning at two small Maples in the line of JOHNSTONs Lot and corner to Fifty acres sold by the said Trustees to FREDERICK ZIMMERMAN, thence with JOHNSTONs Lot line North seventy six degrees East eighty poles to a marked red Oak supposed to be JOHNSTONs line or corner, thence South seventy degrees East thirty eight poles ending in a piece of JOHNSTONs Tobacco Ground, thence North four degrees West three hundred and seventy two poles to a white Oak red Oak & ash saplings by the Edge of the low Ground on the North side of MOUNTAIN RUN, & corner to GABRIEL JONES, thence North fifty seven degrees West fourteen poles to a Sycamore Bush in an Old Field by the edge of a Corn Field, corner to CARTERs Original Survey, & also to GABRIEL JONES, thence through a field South thirty seven degrees West one hundred and fifty two poles to two Maples to a Willow Oak in a Swamp near to CARTERs back line & corner to FREDERICK ZIMMERMANs Fifty acres aforesaid; thence with the said ZIMMERMANs line South four degrees East crossing MOUNTAIN RUN two hundred fifty six poles to the begining, Together with all houses woods profits and hereditaments whatsoever to the same belonging; To have and to hold the land & premises and the appurtenances to them the said THOMAS & JOHN NORMAN & to their heirs; that is to say, one hundred & nineteen acres thereof to the said THOMAS NORMAN and to his heirs & the remainder to the said JOHN NORMAN his heirs, and the (the Trustees before named) hereby doth covenant and grant to and with said THOMAS NORMAN and JOHN NORMAN their heirs that they will not make suffer or willfully omit any act or thing whatsoever whereby they may be prejudiced in their title in the said land hereby conveyed; In Witness whereof the said WILLIAM FITZHUGH of CHATTAM & WILLIAM FITZHUGH of MARMION, JOSEPH JONES, LEWIS WILLIS, JOHN SKINKER & CHARLES WASHINGTON have hereunto set their hands & affixed their seals the day and year first above written

This Indenture of Bargain & Sale from WILLIAM FITZHUGH of CHATTAM, WILLIAM FITZHUGH of MARMION, JOSEPH JONES, LEWIS WILLIS, JOHN SKINKER & CHARLES WASHINGTON Esquires, Trustees for the Sale of the Lands of CHARLES CARTER Esqr. to THOMAS NORMAN & JOHN NORMAN was fully proved as to JOHN SKINKER, FITZHUGH & WILLIS by the oaths of REUBEN ZIMMERMAN, SAMUEL COLVERT & SAMUEL FILSON, witnesses thereto, & ordered to be recorded as to them, And was partly proved as to FITZHUGH (MARMION) & JONES by the oaths of REUBEN ZIMMERMAN & SAM: COLVERT; and as to WASHINGTON by the oaths of SAMUEL COLVERT & SAM: FILSON, witnesses thereto & was ordered to be certified as to them; And at a Court held for the said County the 19th day of Sept. 1785, the said Indenture was fully proved by the oath of ABSALEM BRADLEY, another witness thereto, & was ordered to be recorded
