Witnesseth that the said Elizabeth Bernard in consideration of the natural love and affection which he hath and bear unto William Bernard, her son as for his better maintenance as given by these presents all that tract of land lying on the head of Upper Machodoc Creek in the parish of Washington in County of Westmoreland containing by estimation 229 acres whereon William Hutcherson, Samuel Crange and Peter Crafford now lives.
