Jane Wharton, wife of Henry Wharton of St. Mary's County, Gentleman, aged about 50, said that on about Nov 10, 1698, she, this deponent, was present at the house of Mrs. Jane Doyne in St. Mary's County, and saw Thomas Jameson married according to the rites of the Church of Room [Rome), by the Revd William Hunter, to her, this deponent's sister, Mary Matthews, and on about Dec 25, 1699. She was present at the house of sd Thomas Jameson in CC when her sd sister Mary was delivered of her eldest son Francis Jameson, who is now living. Her sd brother-in-law, Thomas Jameson, went one or more times during his intermarriage, with her sd sister, to England, and she has frequently heard him say that he was next heir to an estate in England, which he could not expect to enjoy, but hoped it would come to some of his children. Sd Thomas Jameson, her sd sister's husband, died on about Nov 18, 1733. For several years before his death, was in a very weak, languishing condition. Signed - Jane Wharton. Ann Dolton of CC, aged about 70 years, says that she formerly lived with a Mrs. Lynch in Liverpool in the County of Lancaster and Kingdom of England, who had a daughter called Ann Jameson, whom Mrs. Lynch sent to Maryland to her son, Thomas Jameson, and whom this deponent understood had been there some years, and a small time after sd Ann Jameson went to Maryland, this deponent also went and arrived in Maryland where, in about 3 years she met with sd Ann Jameson, whom she very well knew to be the same person that Mrs. Lynch sent from Liverpool some time before, and further, this deponent says that she was afterwards reacquainted with Thomas Jameson of CC, whom sd Ann Jameson claimed as brother.
