      Pinckard & Wife to Turberville Indenture
      This indenture made the 19th day of June 1789 between Thomas Pinckard of the Parish of Christ Church and County of Lancaster and Ann Corbin Pinckard his wife of the one part and John Turberville of the Parish of Cople and County of Westmoreland and both in the Commonweath of Virginia of the other part. Witnesseth that Thomas Pinckard and Ann Corbin Pinckard his wife in consideration of 150 current money of Virginia in hand has sold to John Turberville has sold a tract of land lying in the Parish of Cople and County of Westmoreland and bounded on one side by the waters of the Machodoc River, being the one third part of a tract of land recovered from the Honble Robert Carter of Nomini Hall in Westmoreland County at the suit of Willoughby Allerton late of the Parish of Cople and County of Westmoreland and binding further upon the lands of the aforenamed Turberville party to these presents and the lands of the aforenamed Robert Carter containing 50 acres of land. In witness whereof Thomas Pinckard and Ann Corbin Pinckard his wife have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written.

      The Commonweath of Virginia to Henry Lawson, James Brent and William Kirk, Gent. Whereas Thomas Pinckard and Ann Corbin Pinckard his wife by their indenture bearing date the 19th day of June 1789 have sold and conveyed unto John Turberville the fee simple estate of 50 acres and whereas the said Ann Corbin Pinckard cannot conveniently travel to our court of Westmoreland to make acknowledgement. Therefore, we do give unto you or any two or more of you power to receive the acknowledgement which the said Ann Corbin Pinckard shall be willing to make. Witness James Bland, clerk of our said court the 19th day of June 1789.
      By virtue of the within commission to us directed we have examined the within named Ann Corbin Pinckard and she doth voluntarily of her own free will acknowledge all her right title and interest of dower to the said land is is willing the same shall be entered upon record certified under our hands and seals this 19th day of June 1789.

      At a court held for Westmoreland County the 30th day of June 1789 this indenture of bargain and sale and receipt thereon endorsed was acknowledged by Thomas Pinckard and Ann Corbin Pinckard his wife (she being first privy examined as the law directs) and ordered to be recorded.

      Lee to Pinckard Release of Mortgage
      This indenture made this 5th day of May 1798 between Henry Lee of Stratford of the one part and Anne C. Pinckard of Williamsburgh the other part. Witnesseth that whereas heretofore, to wit; in the year [1789] Thomas Pinckard and the said Anne C. Pinckard did by their deed, mortgaged a tract of land in the County of Westmoreland on Machodoc, called Parham, unto John Turberville which said deed of mortgage was duly assigned by the said Turberville to him the said Henry Lee, thereby to secure a debt due from the said Thomas Pinckard in his lifetime. Now this indenture witnesseth that Henry Lee in consideration of one dollar in hand does agree to with the said Anne C. Pinckard that he hereby forever acquits, releases and discharges said land called Parham and hereby forever acquits, releases and discharges Anne C. Pinckard from all and every sum of money or quantities of tobacco due or owing by virtue of the said deed of mortgage. In witness whereof the said Henry Lee has hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year first above written.
