Notes - WILL OF JAMES SCOTT
In the Name of God Amen I James Scott of the County of King George being very sick and weak of Body but of perfect memory blessed be God for it do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament Revokeing and Disalowing of all other Wills and Testaments hereto-fore made. First and principally I recommend my Soul to God who gave it hopeing through the Merritts of my Blessed Saviour Jesus Christ to receive full pardon for all my sins and my Body to the Earth to be decently buried at the Discretion of my Executor here-after named and as touching my Worldly Estate which it hath pleased God to bless me with, I do Give and Dispose as followeth, viz.
Item: I Give and Bequeath to my Loveing Aunt Margaret Amon fifteen pounds Sterling to her own disposing. I allso Give to my Brother Paul Scott and my Sister Margarett Scott each of them a Gold Ring of twenty shillings price. I allso Give to my two Aunts Izabel Triplett and Margr. Taliaferro a Gold Ring of twenty shillings price.
Item: I give all the rest of my Estate real and personal to my Loveing Uncle Hugh French to him and his heirs forever whome I do appoint Constitute and Ordain sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament.
In Wittness whereof I have hereunto Sett my hand and seal this 8th day of December 1722.

The last will and Testament of James Scott, deceased, was presented in Court by Hugh French his Executor who made oath thereto and the same being proved by the oaths of Richard Bellow and John Rafile evidences thereto subscribed is ordered recorded.
John Pratt is security for Hugh French's due administration on the estate of James Scot[t], deceased.
