THIS INDENTURE made 20 November 1775 Between WILLIAM GAMBILL and MARY his Wife of County of Culpeper and Parish of Bromfield and Colony of Virginia of one part and ALPHEUS BEALE of Province of Maryland Witnesseth that said William Gambill and Mary his Wife for sum one hundred pounds current money of Virginia have granted unto said Alpheus Beale his heirs a piece of land whereon they now live containing three hundred acres in Culpeper County and Bromfield Parish in the Fork of the Rush River bounded Begining at three red oaks a Corner in the new Deed of THOMAS PRATTs line on the side of a mountain and runs East to a white oak Corner the old land with Pratt thence South to a double chesnut on a ridge Corner to ROBERT SHERWOOD in JOHN STROTHERs line thence with Sherwoods line North to a Corner to GEORGE STROTHER thence with Strothers line North to three red oaks on the top of a Mountain in the line of the new Deed thence with that line South to the Beginning containing three hundred acres part of said land being part of a tract granted by Pat-tent to THOMAS KENNERLEY bearing date 19th June 1735 the other being part of an Entry made by HENRY GAMBILL Deceased the Survey bearing date October 31, 1754

George the Third to NATHANIEL PENDLETON, JOSEPH WOOD and JAMES SLAUGHTER Gent Whereas William Gambell and Mary his Wife sold land in Culpeper County unto Alpheus Beale and whereas the said Mary cannot conveniently travel to our County Court to make acknowledgement of the said conveyance we do give you power to receive the acknowledgement which Mary shall be willing to make and when you have examined her as aforesaid that you Certify us thereof in our said Court. Witness JOHN JAMESON Clerk of our Court this 20th November 1775 the fifteenth year of our Reign.
Culpeper Sct We the Subscribers this day examined Mary Gambell apart from her husband William Gambill who acknowledged her right of dower to the Deed annexed. Witness this 20th November 1775.

THIS INDENTURE made this Twenty third day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty five Between ALPHEUS BEAL of County WASHINGTON and State of MARYLAND of one part and CHARLES BAILEY of the County of RICHMOND and State of Virginia of the other part; Witnesseth that in consideration of the sum of One hundred and seventy pounds Virginia money to them in hand paid by CHARLES BAILEY, by these presents they the said ALPHEUS BEAL and ANNEY his Wife hath bargained sold and confirmed unto CHARLES BAILEY his heirs one tract of land lying in the Parish of BROMFIELD in the County of Culpeper and bounded; Begining at a red Oak corner in the New Pattent, runing Et. forty two poles to three red Oaks & white Oak, corner to the Old Patent, thence So. Eighty East one hundred & sixty two poles to a double Chesnut, corner to SAMUEL PORTER, thence with his line N. forty six Et, one hundred & sixty poles to a white oak, thence N. fifty three W. with GEORGE STROTHERs line one hundred poles to a red Oak, thence N. seventy two W. two hundred and eighty two poles to three Oaks on the top of a Mountain in the line of the New Patent, thence with that line S. two hundred pole to the begining, containing three hundred acres more or less, together with all woods profits commodities and appurtenances to the same belonging and the rents issue and profits thereof and also the right Estate title and demand of them the said ALPHEUS BEAL and his Wife in the premises and all Deeds touching the same; To have and to hold the parcel of land herein intended to be sold with their appurtenances unto CHARLES BAILEY and his heirs; And the said ALPHEUS BEAL & his Wife for themselves and their heirs doth agree with said CHARLES BAILEY his heirs that the said premises now are and hereafter shall remain and be dear from and all other gifts titles charges and incumbrances suffered by said ALPHEUS BEAL and his Wife or any other person; And the said ALPHEUS BEAL & his Wife and their heirs will warrant and forever defend by these presents; In Witness whereof the said ALPHEUS BEAL and his Wife hath hereunto set their hands & affixed their seals the day &. year first above written
