Indenture made September 12, 1760; John Wells in consideration of 22 pounds 10 shillings sterling paid by Thomas Drane and for divers other good causes and considerations him thereunto moving has sold part of a tract called "Strife" containing 37-1/2 acres and beginning at a bounded poplar standing on the south side of the main road that leads from Queen Anne Town to Upper Marlborough Town. Signed John Wells in the presence of Robert Tyler and acknowledged before Thomas Williams, Robert Tyler and at the same time Rachael Wells w/o John Wells relinquished her right of dower
