Jan 3, 1772 from Mary Piggon of CC, to Eleanor Miles, her daughter, of CC, for the natural love she has for sd Eleanor, and for divers other good causes, Co wit, 100 £, Mary gives Eleanor a tract of land in CC that her husband, John Piggon, gave her in his will. The land is on the west side of Zachia Swamp, where she formerly dwelt, and now in the possession of sd Eleanor, that is to say, to Eleanor after the death of the afd Mary Piggon. Sd Mary Pigion, for the natural love she has for her sd daughter, Eleanor Miles, and for 200 £, has sold to sd Eleanor, all the lands devised to her, sd Mary Piggon, by the will of sd John Piggon. Whereas by an Act of Assembly of Maryland entitled an Act concerning Estates Tail [see Charles County Land Records 1775-1782; Liber V#3; Page 5241, this deed is enabled. This deed further witnesses that sd Elener Miles, for 17,000 lbs of tobacco to her paid by sd Joseph and George Mortin (Morten), she sells to sd Joseph and George Morten, part of the afd tract called New Branford, lying in CC, it being one sixth part of sd tract, supposed to be about 92 acres.       I, William Middleton of CC, give bond to John Piggeon of CC, in the just sum of 1200 lbs of good, clean tobacco, this Nov 27, 1738_ Whereas sd Middleton has sold to afd Peggion, all the land that he, sd Middleton, holds between Joseph Lancaster's bounded beech which runs north 10 degrees east to a small branch between the land of the afd Piggeon and Cap: Joseph Lancaster. If sd Middleton makes over to sd Piggeon, all the land the sd Middleton now holds between the bounded beech afd and the small branch afd, and that lies between the land of Lancaster and John Piggeon, [then this bond becomes void], Signed - Wm Middleton, Wit - Jas Keech, Wm Hagan.
