Ninian Riley b. 18 Mar Prince George's Co. MD; d. 1814 Fayette Co. KY m. 1746 Prince George's Co. MD Elizabeth Taylor b. 1725 Prince George's Co. MD; d. 1812 Fayette Co. KY; both bur. near Lexington, Fayette Co. KY at Walnut Hill Cemetery. Ninian was not named in his father's Will, but is linked by court documents to his father's family. All their 12 children were born in Frederick [now Montgomery] Co. MD. In 1783 the entire family relocated to Surry Co. NC. In 1796 the family removed to Kentucky and settled in Clark and Fayette Cos. Two of their children are my progenitors.

Indenture made January 27, 1782; Samuel Ryley of Wilkes County, Georgia in consideration of 100 pounds current money has sold all the residue and remaining part of a tract called Ryley's Discovery in PGCo which was taken up by Hugh Ryley. Signed Samuel Riley in the presence of David Davis, Blandford Davis and sworn before James Jackson, JP, February 3, 1782
State of Maryland, Montgomery County, to wit, Blandford Davis being duly sworn declares on oath he was present and saw Samuel Riley sign and deliver the within deed and that he together with David Davis signed his name as witness thereto. State of Maryland, Montgomery County, to wit, be it remembered that on May 3, 1783 Walter Smith Greenfield, James Wallace, Ninian Willett and Richard Blacklock the persons named in the power of attorney signed by Ninian Riley and bearing date April 5, 1783 which was this day proved before us by the oath of James Riley personally appeared before us, Richard Thompson, George Beall (JP's of Montgomery County, Maryland)

I Ninian Riley, late of the State of Maryland was appointed by virtue of a power of attorney bearing date January 29, 1782 by Samuel Riley of Wilkes County Georgia to sell all his estate real and personal which he had in the state of Maryland did substitute attorneys under me.
Know all men by these presents that I Ninian Riley of Rowan County, North Carolina for diverse good causes and considerations me hereunto moving have appointed by these presents my trusty friends Walter Smith Greenfield, James Wallace, Ninian Willett and Richard Blacklock all of Montgomery County, Maryland my lawful attorneys in behalf of the above named Samuel Riley to sell his real and personal estate in the state of Maryland
on the back of which deed was endorsed to wit, Rowan County North Carolina; Ninian Riley appeared before me the subscriber a justice of the peace for the county and acknowledged the within power of attorney to be his act and deed and also saw James Riley and James T. Riley and Thomas Belt sign the same as witnesses. Given under my hand this, April 5, 1783, Jacob Nicholls, JP
