=== Research Notes from Sharon Cantrall
The 1870 census shows her living with her daughter, Fannie Grymes in King George, VA. My mom and cousin did a lot of work in the 70s putting together a genealogy chart and I've always known it to show Ann Douglass Marshall from Marshall Hall, MD wife of James Irwin. We have a Eagle's Nest graveyard map that shows Ann and Fannie with vitals and location. Thomas Irwin married into the Quaker family: Janney and so there is a Quaker record of Ann and James' marriage but it lists her as daughter of John Marshall of Marshall Hall, MD rather than James.
We have salt cellars in the family that came to Fannie Grymes that are said to come from Anne and Marshall Hall itself but I was having a terrible time making the connection, finding only African American or Pennsylvania names. Except this one reference in Southern Md but the death date and death location kept me from perusing until I figured out it's the same as James' date.
