      THIS INDENTURE made the Nineteenth day of September in year of our Lord MDCCLXXVII Between JOSEPH WINLOCK of County of STAFFORD, Planter, and MARGARET his Wife of the first part, RICHARD TODD and ELIZABETH his Wife of Parish of Brunswick of second part and JAMES DAVIS of Parish of Brunswick aforesaid and County of King George of third part; Whereas THOMAS HARRISON formerly of OVERWHARTON Parish in STAFFORD County by his Last Will and Testament dated the xth day of November 1725 proved at the Court of the said County at the succeeding Court did among other devices give unto his Daughter, CATHARINE HARRISON Eighty acres of Land then joining on Mr. RICHARD FOWLEY to her & her heirs and if in case she died without any heirs then to fall to the next heir; And Whereas the said CATHARINE died without issue whereupon the title to the land vested in the heirs of those Sisters of said CATHARINE who are likewise mentioned in the said Will, to wit, JANE, FRANCES and ANN; And Whereas the said FRANCES died intestate leaving SAMUEL DAVIS her Son and heir, who likewise died intestate leaving issue Daughters Coheiresses to wit, ELIZABETH, the Wife of RICHARD TODD and three others; And Whereas the said JOSEPH WINLOCK is Son and Heir of the said JANE by virtue of which premises the said JOSEPH WINLOCKis intitled and seized in one undivided third part of the aforesaid Eighty acres of land amounting to near twenty seven acres and the said RICHARD TODD and ELIZABETH his Wife in right of said ELIZABETH are intitled to & seized in one fourth part of one third part of the said Eighty acres of land undivided amounting to near seven acres; NOW THIS INDENTURE WITNESSETH that JOSEPH WINLOCK and MARGARET his Wife and RICHD: TODD and ELIZABETH his Wife in consideration of Six pounds. fifteen shillings to him the.sd, JOS: WINLOCK in hand paid by JAMES DAVIS. and of the consideration of the sum of one pound, fifteen shillings to RICHARD TODD and ELIZABETH his Wife in hand paid by JAMES DAVIS, by these presents do bargain and sell unto JAMES DAVIS his heirs one third part and one fourth of one third part of the aforesaid Eighty acres of land undivided in the whole to about thirty four acres more or less and the rents issues and profits thereof: To have and to hold the third part of eighty acres of the undivided part of one fourth part of one third part of said eight acres undivided with the appurtenances unto JAMES DAVIS his heirs; And JOSEPH WINLOCK and his heirs shall warrant and defend the one third part of the eighty acres of undivided land unto JAMES DAVIS his heirs against every person and RICHARD TODD and ELIZABETH his Wife for themselves & their heirs shall warrant & defend the one fourth part of the one third part of the eighty acres of land unto JAMES DAVIS his heirs against all persons, In Testimony whereof the sd, JOSEPH WINLOCK and MARGRET his Wife and RICHARD TODD and ELIZABETH his Wife have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written

Whereas JOSEPH WINLOCK and MARGARET his Wife and RICHARD TODD and ELIZABETH his Wife of your said County by their certain Deed of Bargain and Sale (the Commission for the privy examinations of MARGARET. the Wife of JOSEPH WINLOCK and ELIZABETH, the Wife of RICHARD TODD);
      Witness JOSEPH ROBINSON Clerk of our said County Court of King George this 19th day of Septa 1777, in the second year of this Commonwealth

      By virtue of the within Writ to us directed, we caused the said MARGARET WINLOCK, Wife of JOSEPH WINLOCK, and ELIZABETH TODD, Wife of RICHARD TODD, to appear before us and examined them privately and apart from their said Husbands touching the con-
      veyance of the within mentioned Land (the return of the execution of the privy examination of
      MARGARET WINLOCK and ELIZABETH TODD); THOMAS BERRY

      JOSEPH WINLOCK and MARGARET his Wife, RICHARD TODD & ELIZABETH his Wife This Deed from under the hands and seals of the sd. parties, the said MARGARET & ELIZABETH being first privately examined by a Commission, was presented into Court by JAMES DAVIS and proved by the Oaths of THOMAS BERRY, JOHN POLLARD JUNR. & JAMES RODGERS, and on the motion of the said DAVIS was ordered to be recorded Test JOS ROBINSON, C.
