      Youell Sanford's Will
      In the name of God Amen, I Youell Sanford of the County of Westmoreland and Parish of Cople being weak in body but of perfect mind do make and ordain this my last will and testament.
      Imprimis, I give to my beloved wife Ellioner Sanford, three Negroes, Baker, Harry and Jone, exclusive of her right of dower during her natural life. Which said Negro Harry I give after her decease to her son Robert Sanford. The other two Negroes, Baker and Jone, I give to my sons Daniel Sanford, William Sanford and daughters Barbary Sanford, Caty Sanford, and Peggy Sanford to be equally divided.
      Item I give to my daughter Jemima Sanford, small Negro girl Hoilet.
      Item I give to my daughter Malinda Sanford, small Negro girl Hannah.
      Item I give to my son John Sanford, Negro James.
      Item I give to my daughter Frances Sanford, Negro girl Silvia.
      Item I give to my son Presly Sanford, 2000 pounds of tobacco to be paid by my executors in the the year 1794.
      Item I give to my son William Sanford all my coopers tools.
      I will and bequeath to my beloved wife all the residue of my estate and after her death, my son Thomas Sanford shall take possession and divide it as one thinks right.
      Item I give to my son Thomas Sanford, Negro Charles, a desk and still.
      I hereby appoint my son Thomas Sanford whole and sole executor to this my last will and testament. In testimony whereof I have affixed my hand and seal this 16th day of November 1793.

      At a court held for Westmoreland County the 28th day of January 1794 this will and codicil were proved according to law by the oaths of William H. Parker and William Sanford, two of the witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded; and on the motion of Thomas Sanford the executor therein named who made oath thereto according to law and together with Samuel Templeman and William Sanford his securities entered into and acknowledged bond with condition as the law directs, certificate is granted him for obtaining a probate thereof in due form.
