Peter Smith's Will
In the Name of God Amen, I Peter Smith, Sr., of Cople Parish and County of Westmoreland do make constitute and ordain this my last will and Testament in manner and form as followeth;
Item, I give and bequeath to my beloved son John Smith, the plantation whereon I now live, binding on the branch between that and my son Peter Smith and so to the head of the line; Negro girl Sall, the bed I lie on and furniture belonging, and all my stock.
I give and bequeath to my beloved son William Smith 20 shillings and no more. I have given her [him] sufficiency before my death.
I give and bequeath to my beloved son Peter Smith 20 shillings and no more. I have given her [him] sufficiency before my death.
Item, I give and bequeath to my grandson Peter Smith, the plantation whereon he now lives, to the line marked with my own hand, between that line an the land I gave to my son John Smith.
Item I give unto my daughter Mary Holloway 20 shillings and no more.
Item I give unto my son John Smith, two Negroes Will and Bess; also all my household furniture and all my stock, horses, cattle and hogs, case & bottles, tight casks and all my kitchen furniture.
Item I give and bequeath to my daughter Dorcus Neale, Negro man Isaac.
My Negro man Regus to be sold to pay my debts.
Item I give unto my grandchildren William Turner and Elizabeth Turner, 20 shillings each.
Lastly, I appoint my son John Smith my whole and sole executor of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 1st day of April 1774.

At a court held for Westmoreland County in August 1774 this will was proved by Simon Churchill a witness thereto and the same having been before proved at June Court last by the oath of Thomas Moore another witness is now ordered to be recorded.

Daniel Neale's Will
In the Name of God Amen, I Daniel Neale of Cople Parish in County of Westmoreland being weak of body but of sound mind and memory do make constitute and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following.
Item I give and bequeath unto my son Presley Neale 300 acres of land on Nominy which I now possess.
Item I give and bequeath unto my son Presley Neale one bay colt called fancy, one bed and furniture, five head of neet cattle, five head of sheep, five head of hogs; three of them largest kind and the other two smaller kind.
Item I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary Neale, one bed and furniture, five head of cattle, five head of sheep in five head of hogs, being of the above-mentioned size.
Item I give and bequeath unto my son Peter Presley Neale, one bed and furniture, five head of cattle, and five head of hogs.
Item I give and bequeath unto my son James Neale, one bed and furniture, five head of neet cattle, five head of sheep, five head of hogs being all the size of my son Presley.
Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Neale, one bed and furniture, five head of neet cattle, five head of sheep and five head of hogs, being of the above size.
Item I give and bequeath unto my dear beloved wife Dorcas Neale, two Negroes; Isaac and Bess during her natural life and the remainder part of my estate to be equally divided between my three sons Presley Neale, Peter Presley Neale and James Neale.
Item it is my desire that my beloved wife Dorcas Neale and son Presley Neale be executors of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 13th day of September 1781.
N.B. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Nancy Neale five head of cattle.

At a court held for Westmoreland County the 30th day of April 1782 this will was proved according to law by the oaths of William Hutt and Thomas Cavender the witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded; and on the motion of Presley Neale executor there in named who made oath thereto according to law and together with William Hutt and William Robinson Dozier his securities entered into and acknowledged bond with conditioned as the law directs, certificate is granted him for obtaining a probate thereof in due form, previous to which Dorcas Neale the widow of the said Daniel Neale personally appeared and relinquished all benefit or advantage that she might claim under the said will.
