Peter McClanahan’s Will [no date probate]
In the Name of God Amen, I Peter McClanahan of the County of Westmoreland and parish of Cople being sick and weak, though in perfect sense and memory doth make and ordain this my last will and testament.
Item I give and bequeath to my son William McClanahan all my land, and Negro Daniel and his heirs, and for want of such heirs to return to the next heir.
As for the rest of my six children I do give and bequeath all my estate not mentioned both real and personal to be equally divided between Peter McClanahan, Thomas McClanahan, James McClanahan, Mary McClanahan, Betty McClanahan, and John McClanahan.
I do appoint my son William McClanahan, my son Thomas McClanahan and my son Peter McClanahan, whole and sole executors of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this ninth day of January 1775.
