      Roberson's Will
      I Thomas Roberson of the county of Westmoreland and parish of Cople being weak of body but of perfect mind and memory
      Item I give and bequeath unto my loving wife Anne Robinson all my whole estate during her life.
      Item I give my son Richard Roberson one shilling.
      Item I give to my grandson John Roberson, Thomas Roberson’s son one cow and calf after my wifes decease.
      Item I give unto my grandson Thomas Redman Roberson one feather bed after my wifes decease.
      Item I give unto my three sons William Roberson, John Roberson and James Roberson my land to be equally divided after my wifes decease.
      Item I constitute and appoint my wife Anne Roberson my Executor of this my last will.

      Westmoreland Sct. At a court held for the said county the 29th Day of June 1756 this will was presented into court by Ann Roberson the relict of the decedent and executrix who made oath thereto and the same time proved by the oath of Gerard Hutt Senior and Gerard Hutt Junior witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded; and on the motion of said executrix and her performing what the law in such cases requires a certificate is granted her for obtaining a probate thereof in due form.

      THIS INDENTURE made the 29th day of May in the Twelfth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second by the grace of God of Great Brittain, France and Ireland, King, Defender of the faith &c.. And in the year of our Lord 1739; Between THOMAS ROBINSON, JUNR. of Parish of Cople in County of Westmoreland, Carpenter. of one part and JOHN ROBINSON of Parish of Cople in County of Westmoreland, Planter, of other part; Witnesseth that said THOMAS ROBINSON in consideration of the sum of 850 pounds of tobacco to him in hand paid by JOHN ROBINSON, the receipt whereof THOMAS ROBINSON doth hereby acknowledge, hath and by these presents doth bargain and sell unto JOHN ROBINSON all his right title and interest of in and to a certain parcel of Land containing Twenty acres be the same more or less and also all his part of the personal Estate now in the possession of THOMAS ROBINSON SENR. Left by his Father, THOMAS ROBINSON. and his children as by his last Will and Testament bearing date the 22nd day of April 1717, together with all houses orchards rights members and appurtenances to the same belonging; To have and to hold the Twenty acres of land and personal Estate with appurtenances unto JOHN ROBINSON his heirs; And THOMAS ROBINSON, JUNR. & his heirs the premises against THOMAS ROBINSON, JUNR. & his heirs shall warrant, save harmless and keep indemnified & forever defend by these presents: In Witness whereof the parties to these presents have interchangably sett their hands and seals the day and year above written

      Memorandum: That on the 29th day of May in the year of our Lord 1739, peaceably and quietly possession and seizin of the within bargained and sold premises was given and delivered by THOMAS ROBINSON, JUNR. unto JOHN ROBINSON by the delivery of Turf and Twigg, the said Land, To have & to hold the same according to the tenor form and effect of the within written Deed.

      KNOW ALL MEN by these presents that I THOMAS ROBINSON, JUNR. of Parish of Cople in County of Westmoreland do stand and is firmly bound unto JOHN ROBINSON of the Parish of Cople in County of Westmoreland in the sum of seventeen hundred pounds of tobacco to the which payment well and truly to be made I bind myself my heirs firmly by these presents; Sealed with my seale and dated this 29th day of May Anno Dom: 1739
      Westmoreland sct. At a Court held for the said County the 29th day of May 1739 THOMAS ROBINSON, JUNR. personally acknowledged this Deed of Feoffment or Bargain and Sale by him passed to his Brother, JOHN ROBINSON, together with the Livery of Seizin thereon endorsed, and a Bond for performance of Covenants to be his act and deed, all which at the instances of the said JOHN ROBINSON are admitted to Record
