At the request of Thomas Jenkins, the following division was recorded on Nov 8, 1744.
Know that Thomas Jenkins deceased, of CC, by his will, left to his 2 sons, Edwd & William Jenkins, a tract of land called Pyehard Shift, lying in CC, containing 333 acres, to be equally divided between sd Edwd and William .. said land called the Miry Branch & the said Wm Jenkins to have all the remaining part of the said land lying on the east side of the sd branch. At the request of John Cawood Jr, the following deed was recorded on Oct 14, 1745,
Oct 8, 1745 from John Cawood Sr of CC, planter, to John Cawood Jr of CC, planter, for 3000 lbs tobacco and for divers other good causes, a tract of land in CC called Nutwell, bounded by a fork of the Cabbin Branch near to the land of Edward Jenkins, containing and now laid out for about 160 acres. Signed - Jno (f his mark) Cawood. Wit - George Dent, Robt [blank].

1765-1770 Charles County, Maryland Land Records; Liber O#3 [TLC]; Page 299. Agreement. We, being appointed by Mrs. Mary Jenkins, Edward Jenkins, and Igna Jenkins, to equally divide a tract of land in their possession called pyes hardship, agreeable to the will of Thomas Jenkins, late of CC, between Edward Jenkins and William Jenkins, sons of sd Thomas, upon running the land, we divided the tract. 1786-1790 Charles County, Maryland Land Records; Liber D#4 [TLC]; Page 605. Dec 2, 1789 from Thomas Andrew Dyson, as Sheriff of CC, to Alexander Hamilton of Prince George's County. Whereas sd Dyson, by a writ of venditioni exponas from the General Court of Maryland to him directed, exposed to public sale about 249 acres of land, being a tract of land called the Maze, which sd land was by CC deed, conveyed by Thomas Gantt to Edward Jenkins, now decd, dated Aug 21, 1738, and sd Hamilton was the highest bidder at 249 £. The writ afd was in consequence of a Judgment obtained in the General Court afd by Robert Dreghorn and others, against Edward Jenkins. Sd land was bought by sd Alexander Hamilton last Sep 30, and the writ was returned to last Oct term. Now in order to confirm Hamilton's title, this deed further witnesses that ad Dyson, as CC Sheriff, conveys to sd Hamilton, the afd land. Signed - Thomas Dyson, Shff Chas County.
