      THIS INDENTURE made the twenty seventh day of June in the year of our Lord God one thousand seven hundred and thirty seven Between JOHN SHADRICK, JAMES RUSSELL and SARAH his Wife of Parish of Cople in County of Westmoreland, Planters, of one part, and WILLIAM MUSE of Parish of Cople and County of Westmoreland, Planter, of other part; Witnesseth that JOHN SHADRICK, JAMES RUSSELL and SARAH his Wife in consideration of the sum of Fifty pounds of tobacco to them in hand paid by WILLIAM MUSE, the Receipt whereof is herehy acknowledged, hath and by these presents doth bargain and sell unto WILLIAM MUSE all that parcel of land containing One hundred acres be the same more or less scituate in Parish of Cople and County of Westmorland and bounded; Begining on the East side of a Great Swamp runing into RAPPAHANOCK CREEK at the mouth of a Branch known by the name of the SANDY VALLEY BRANCH, thence up the Branch to a white Oake, corner tree, thence Southerly by a line of marked trees to a corner marked red Oake standing by an Old Field in or near the line of the Land of THOMAS STURMAN, thence along his line to the said Great Swamp, thence up the Swamp to the first begining; And all houses orchards profits and appurtenances to the same belonging; To have and to hold the land and premises with appurtenances unto WILLIAM MUSE his heirs during the term of one whole year paying therefore one pepper corn upon the Feast of Saint Michael the Archangle if demanded, to the intent that by virtue of these presents and by force of the Statute for transferring of uses into possession WILLIAM MUSE may be in the actual possession of the premises and thereby be enabled to take a release of the inheritance thereof to him and his heirs: In Witness whereof the parties first above mentioned have interchangeably set their hands and seals the day month and year first above written Sealed and delivered in the presence of us

      JOHN SHADRICK, JAMES RUSSELL and SARAH his Wife, personally acknowledged this Deed of Lease for Land by them passed to WILLIAM MUSE to be their proper act and deed which at the instance of the said MUSE is admitted to Record

      THIS INDENTURE made the twenty eight day of June in the year of our Lord God one thousand seven hundred and thirty seven; Between JOHN SHADRICK, JAMES RUSSELL and SARAH his Wife of the Parish of Cople and County of Westmorland, Planters, of one part. and WILLIAM MUSE of Parish of Cople and County of Westmorland, Planter, of other part; Witnesseth that JOHN SHADRICK, JAMES RUSSELL and SARAH his Wife in consideration of the sum of Three thousand six hundred pounds of tobacco to them in hand paid by WILLIAM MUSE, the Receipt whereof doth hereby acknowledge and for other good causes and considerations them threunto moving, hath and by these presents doth bargain sell and release unto WILLIAM MUSE in his actual possession now being by virtue of a bargain and sale to him thereof made for one year and by force of the Statute for transferring of uses into possession, all that parcel of land containing One hundred acres be the same more or less scituate in the Parish of Cople and County aforesaid bounded. Begining (the description of the bound repeated as in the Lease); To have and to hold the land and premises with appurtenances unto WILLIAM MUSE his heirs without the hindrance of JOHN SHADRICK, JAMES RUSSELL and SARAH his Wife their heirs. the Rents and services due for the premises to the Lord or Lords of the Fee of Fees thereof only excepted; In Witness whereof the parties first above mentioned have interchangeably set their hands and affixed their seals the day month and year first above written

      Received of the WILLIAM MUSE the sum of Three thousand six hundred pounds of tobacco being the consideration tobacco within mentioned to be by him paid to me.

      JOHN SHADRICK, JAMES RUSSELL and SARAH his Wife came into Court (she being first privately examined according to Law) they all personally acknowledged this Deed of Release for Land by them passed to WILLIAM MUSE together with the Receipt for the consideration thereon endorsed to be their proper act and deed, all which at the instance of the said MUSE are admitted to Record
