      THIS INDENTURE made this twenty seventh day of August in the thirteenth year of the reign of our Soveraign Lord George by the grace of God of Great Britain &c,, and in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred & twenty six, Between NICHOLAS MARTIN of the Parish of Cople and County of Westmoreland
      of one part and THOMAS NEWTON of the Parish and County aforesaid, Gent., of the other part; Witnesseth that NICHOLAS MARTIN in consideracon of the quantity of Ten thousand five hundred pounds of good & lawful! tobacco & cask to him in hand paid or secured to be paid the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge, hath and by these presents doth bargain and sell unto THOMAS NEWTON his heirs all that parcel! of land lying in the County aforesaid near the head of a River commonly called YEOCOMOCOE RIVER, containing by estimation three hundred & fourteen acres one rood & four perches, be the same more or less, One hundred & thirty acres whereof by estimacon WILLIAM LYND purchased of one GEORGE GARLAND, Son and Heir to one WILLIAM
      GARLAND, who puchased the aforesaid land of one GEORGE LAMKIN & assigned over unto the said LAMKIN by one JAMES SMITH who purchased the aforesaid (faded on film) SMITH as by the assignement thereon bearing date the tenth day of December Anno Dom one thousand six hundred eighty & one; the other part of the abovemenconed land (of the three hundred & fourteen acres) containing by estimacon one hundred eighty four acres one Rood & four perches was lately purchased by the aforesaid WM: LYND of one ROBERT PHILLIPS who purchased it of one JOHN DUNKAN, and made over to said DUNKAN by one WILLIAM LYNTON with all its rights members & appurtenances now being in the tenour of NICHOLAS MARTIN who purchased it of WILLIAM LYND as by Deed bearing date the twenty first day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & twenty one may more fully appear; To have and to hold the land plantacons and premisses unto THOMAS NEWTON & his heirs. free and clear from all incumbrances, In Witness whereof the parties to these presents have interchangeably sett their hands & seals the day & year first above written
