THIS INDENTURE made the 8th day of July one thousand seven hundred and twenty and in ye Sixth years of the Reigne of our Sovereign Lord George by the grace of God of Greate Brittain France and Ireland, King, Defender of the faith &c„ Between JOHN DODSON and CHARLES DODSON of County of Richmond and Parish of Farnham of one part and ROBERT MATHEWS of the Parish and County aforesd. of other part, Witnesseth tht JOHN DODSON and CHARLES DODSON for divers good causes & considerations them thereunto moving but especially for ye consideration of Four thousand pounds of tobacco them them payd or secured to be paide by ye sd. ROBERT MATHEWS eoth bargain & sell unto ROBERT MATHEWS his heirs during the terme of three natural! lives hereafter in these presents mentioned and the longest liver of them a certain tract of land scituate in Farnum Parish & County of Richmond and bounded, binding upon ye land now in possession of CHRISTOPHER PETTY & ye Land of BARTHOLOMEW RICHD: DODSON & on ye Branches of TOTASKEE containing a hundred acres, it being ye halfe of two hundred acres that CHARLES DODSON, Father of ye aforesd. JOHN & Grandfather of the sd. CHARLES DODSON gave to sd. JOHN DODSON by his Last Will and Testament as by Records of ye County may appear; Together with all houses orchards, with all priviledges and appurtenances belonging; To have and to hold the one hundred acres of land & premises with appurtenances during three natural! lives, to wit, ye life of ROBERT MATHEWS, SARAH MATHEWES & JOANA MATHEWS & ye longest liver of them; paying every yeare ye usuall Rent due to the Cheif Lord or Lords of ye Fee there Attorney or Agent as also ye Rent of one care of Indian Corn yearly unto ye sd. JOHN & CHARLES DODSON if ye same be lawfully demanded; In Witness whereof the sd. JOHN & CHARLES DODSON hath hereunto sett their hands & seals the day & year first above written

JOHN DODSON came into Court and acknowledged this Deed unto ROBERT MATHEWS which was admitted to Record

KNOW ALL MEN by these presents that wee JOHN & CHARLES DODSON of the County of
Richmond doe owe & stand justly indebted & firmly bound by these presents unto ROBERT MATHEWS of the County aforesd. in ye just and full sum of Eight thousand pounds of tobacco, to ye which payment well and truely to be made doe bind & oblidge my Executors Administrators for ye whole firmly by these presents; Sealed with my Seale, Dated ye 2th day of July 1720
THE CONDITION of the above written obligation is such that whereas ye above bounden JOHN & CHARLES DODSON haveing by Agreement bargained & sould unto ROBERT MATHEWS his heirs one hundred acres of land for three natural! lives as by a Deed of Saile made between JOHN & CHARLES DODSON to ROBERT MATHEWS bearing even date with these presents, Nov if ye sd, JOHN and CHARLES DODSON shall perform & keep all ye covenants & agreements made in ye aforesd. Deed that then ye above written obligation to be voyd and of noe effect & to stand & remain in full force strength & vertue Signed sealed alisflelivered in presence of us
