      THIS INDENTURE made the Second day of August in the Thirteenth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lady Anne by the grace of God of Great Brittain, France and Ireland, Queen, Defender of the Faith and in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and fourteen Between JOHN MUNDANE of Hanover Parish in ye County of Richmd. within ye Collony of Virginia, Cordwainer, of ye one part and SAMLL. JOHNSON of the same Parish and County within the Collony of Virginia, Planter, of the other part; Wittnesseth that JOHN MUNDANE for the sume of Five shillings of good and lawfull money of England to him in hand paid by SAMLL. JOHNSON by these presents do bargain and sell unto SAMLL. JOHNSON all that Plantation tract of land scituate in Hanover Parish in ye County of Richmond Beginning at a corner tree on the River side and parts the land of WM, UNDERWOOD and ye Land where EDWARD GEORGE did live and running down the River to a Valey commonly called the SANDY VALEY being ye next Valey above ye Mill formerly called Mr. PEALES MILL, and running up ye sd. Valey into oyo Woods for the complement of One hundred acres of land. the sd. Land being formerly sold by WM. UNDERWOOD to ROBERT MUNDANE as by Deed bearing date the 12th day of November 1686 will appear; wth. all houses and tobbo: houses barnes buildings and edifices whatsoever gardens orchards fences and water courses, and the rents issues and profitts thereof; To have and to hold the premises with their respective rights members and appurtenances unto SAMLL. JOHNSON his heirs during the terme of one whole year paying therefore the Rent of one ear of Indian Corn on ye Birth Day of our Lord God next ensuing, to the intent that by virtue of these presents and of the Statute for transferring uses into possession the said SAMLL. JOHNSON may be in the actuall possession of the premises and be thereby the better enabled to receive a release or other conveyance of the free hold reversion and inheritance thereof; In Wittness whereof the partys afforesd. have to these p.sents set their hands & wales ye day month and year first above written

JOHNSON of the same Parish and County within the Collony of Virginia, Planter, of other part; Wittnesseth that JOHN MUNDANE for the sum of Two thousand pounds of Tobbo: in casque to him in hand paid by SAMLL. JOHNSON by these presents do bargain and sell unto SAMLL, JOHNSON being in actuall possession of the premises by virtue of a Lease and of the Statute for transferring uses into possession. all that Plantation tract of land scituate in Hanover Parish in County of Richmd. Beginning (the description of the land repeasted as in the foregoing Lease); To have and to hold the premises hereby granted to SAMLL. JOHNSON his heirs and sd. JOHN MUNDANE doth grant for himself & his heirs by these presents that he shall warrant and forever defend the land and premises unto SAMLL. JOHNSON his heirs against JOHN MUNDANE his heirs; And further JOHN MUNDANE his heirs will at any Court held for the County of Richmond within six months after the date of these presents upon the request of SAMLL. JOHNSON his heirs duely and personally or by Power of Attorney acknowledge these presents in Court to the end that the same may be recorded; In Wittness whereof the partyes aforesd, have to these presents set their hands and seales the day month and year above writtens
