• Notes

  from first marriage Comfort "M" was a Rust. Daughter of Elizabeth (Marshall) & John Rust. Comfort M (Rust) m'd Isaac R Gardner. Lived in VA until after 1840. All their little Gardners were born in VA. (I may have previously written that they were in IND before then, for that is what I was told by another Rust whose family kept up. I've since found OTHERWISE.!! Proved by Census records found at last. 1850 Census shows them in Jackson Co, IN. 1840 Census, finds them in VA. Wonder if John Bushrod Rust and Isaac R Gardner changed places.. Isaac R Gardner to IND., John B. Rust back to VA. Where is the time to research every detail??!!
