      KNOW ALL MEN by these presents that I RICHARD HAYNIE of the Pish. of ST. STEPHENS in County of NORTHUMBERLAND Gent. for sundry good causes and considerations by these presents do impower and in my place put my trusty freind, WILLIAM WOODBRIDGE, of Richmond County Gent. my lawfull Attorney to appear for me in any Court to be held for said County of Richmond and there in open Court for me to acknowledge unto JONATHAN EATON a Certain Deed of Sale by Indenture bearing date the seventeenth day of May Anno Domini 1710 for Fifty acres of land more or less to the end that said Indenture may be there admitted to Record as the Law directs confirming and allowing whatsoever my said Attorney shall doe or cause to be done in this matter by these presents. In Witness whereof I the said RICHARD HAYNIE have hereunto sett my hand and seale this 21st day of June Anno Domini 1710

      THIS INDENTURE made the fifteenth day of May in the eight year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lady Anne by the grace of God of Great Brittain France and Ireland Queen &c., and in the year of our Lord God one thousand seven hundred & (blank), Between RICHARD HAYNIE SENIOR of the Pish: of ST. STEPHENS in County of NORTHUMBERLAND Gent. of one part and JONATHAN EATON of the Pish: and County aforesaid, Planter, of other part; Witnesseth that RICHARD HAYNIE for the sum of Thirty pounds of tobacco to him in hand paid by JONATHAN EATON by these presents do bargain and sell unto JONATHAN EATON Fifty acres of land be it more or less lying in ye County of Richmond and bounded, Beginning at a red Oak standing near the dwelling plantation of said JONATHAN EATON and R: L: PATH and extending North Westerly by marked trees to ye head of a small branch and down the said branch till it comes to another branch issuing out of a Swamp, and up the said little branch to the head thereof and from thence by another line of marked trees to R. L: PATH, then along said PATH to the place where At first began, it being a little Neck of land containing by estimation Fifty acres. To have and to hold said Fifty acres of land with appurtenances unto JONATHAN EATON & assigns dureing the terme of one whole year paying the rent of one pepper Corn at the feast of the Nativity of our blessed Lord and Saviour if demanded to the intent that by vertue of these presents and of the statute for transferring uses into possession said JONATHAN EATON may be in actuall possession of the premises and be enabled to accept a grant of the Inheritance thereof; In Witness whereof RICHARD HAYNIE hath hitherto

      WILLIAM WOODBRIDGE Gent. by vertue of a power of attorney from RICHARD HAYNIE of NORTHUMBERLD. County to him in that behalf made, acknowledged this the said HAYNIE3 Deed of Lease unto JONATHAN EATON and it was admitted to Record

STEPHENS in County of NORTHUMBERLAND Gent. of one part and JONATHAN EATON of the Pish: and County aforesaid, Planter, of other part; Witnesseth that RICHARD HAYNIE for the sum of One thousand and five hundred pounds of good tobacco to RICHARD HAYNIE in hand paid by JONATHAN EATON by these presents do release and confirm unto JONATHAN EATON in his actual! possession now being by vertue of a bargain and sale to him thereof made for one year and by force of a Statute for transferring uses into possession and to his heirs, Fifty acres of land more or less lying in County of Richmond and bounded (the description of the bounds for the land as in the foregoing Lease); To have and to hold the land containing by estimation Fifty acres be it more or less and all the premises with appurtenances unto JONATHAN EATON his heirs to be holden of the Cheif Lord of the Fee of the said premises by the rents and services for the same due or accustomed to be paid; And RICHARD HAYNIE his heirs will warrant and forever defend

STEPHENS in County of NORTHUMBERLAND Gent. am holden and firmly bound unto JONATHAN EATON of ye Pish. and County aforesaid, Planter, in the sum of Three thousand pounds of good merchantable tobacco in caske to be payed to JONATHAN EATON his certain attorney or assignes to which payment to be made I do hereby bind my self my heirs firmly by these presents with my seale dated this seventeenth day of May in the eight year of our Sovereign Lady Anne by the grace of God of Great Brittain France & Ireland Queen and in the year of our Lord God (blank)
      The Conditon of the above obligation is such that whereas RICHARD HAYNIE hath by Indenture bearing even date with these presents hath made over unto JONATHAN EATON a certain parcel! of land containing by estimation Fifty acres; Now Know yee that if RICHARD HAYNIE and ELLINOR his Wife shall acknowledge the said Indenture by which the land doth pass in fee simple to JONATHAN EATON in the County Court of Richmond within six months then this obligation to be void
