      The Lasl Will and Testament of EDMUND McLINCHEY, deced., was presented into Court by JANE McLINCHEE his Executrix, who made Oath thereto, and being proved by the Oaths of DANIEL GAINES and MARY DOYLE, two of the witnesses thereto, and on motion of the Executrix and her performing what is usual in such cases, Certificate is granted her for obtaining a Probate thereof in due forme

      KNOW ALL MEN by these presents that I JAMES ORCHARD and MARY his Wife both of County of Rappa. for and in consideration of a valuable sum of Three thousand Six hundred pounds of good lawful' Tobaco in Caske according to Act by us in hand reced. as also a Gold Ring of Ten Shillings price the Receipt whereof we the sd. JAMES ORCHARD and MARY ORCHARD do hereby acknowledge ourselves thereby to be fully satisfied therewith and by these presents have granted sold and confirmed fully clearly and absolutely unto JOHN BURKETT of the County aforesd his heirs a certain parsell or tract of land conteyning One hundred Eighty five acres lying in the sd County on the North side of the River and on the South East side of the CLIFT CREEK being part of a Patent of Three hundred acres granted to Capt. JOHN WARE (sic WEIRE} bearing date the last day of March 1655, Beginning at a Maple standing by the Cleare Branch of CLIFT CREEK, Corner tree to a parcel of land sold by me the said ORCHARD to JAMES JACKSON and extending thence E. France and Ireland, Defenders ofthe faith Now Know ye that I ROWLAND THORNTON of RAPPA. County in the Colony of Virginia, Plantr., & ELIZABETH my Wife for the sum of Three thousand pounds of Arenoco Tobacco and cask and two thousand sweetsented in hand paid or secured to be paid by EDMOND MAGLENTIA [McLynch] of the aforesaid county and Colony, Planter, by these presents have granted unto the said EDMOND MAGLENTIA his heirs and assigns forever one tract of land containing by estimation One hundred acres of land more or less being in the aforesaid County of RAPPA:, on the North side of the River being part of a Tract of Land formerly belonging to Capt.       THIS INDENTURE made the xxviii day of November in the year of our Lord MDCCXXX, Between JOHN JONES of County of ESSEX & ELIZABETH his Wife of one part and ARMSTEAD CHURCHILL of County of MIDDLESEX, Gent., of other part; Witnesseth that JOHN JONES &ELIZA: his Wife in consideracon of thesum of Twenty six pounds, Eighteen shillings & five pence of lawfull money to them in hand paid by ARMSTEAD CHURCHILL the receipt whereof they doe hereby acknowledge, hath and by these p:sents doth bargain sell and release unto ARMSTEAD CHURCHILL (in his actual possession now being by vertue of a bargain and sale to him thereof made for one whole year and by force of the Statute for transferring uses into possession) and to his heirs all that Plantacon & tract of land lying in Parish of Sittenbourne in County of Richmond containing One hundred seventy & five acres and bounded, Beginning (the bounds of the land repeated as in the Lease); To have and to hold the Plantation & tract of land and other the p:mises unto ARMSTEAD CHURCHILL his heirs; And JOHN JONES & ELIZA; his Wife their heirs the p:mises with appurts. unto ARMSTEAD CHURCHILL his heirs shall warrant & for ever defend by these p:sents; In Witness whereof the parties to these present Indentures have hereunto interchangeably sett their hands and affixed their seals the day and year first above written

      JOHN JONES & ELIZABETH JONES came into court & acknowledged this their Deed or Release unto ARMSTEAD CHURCHILL, Gent., (the said ELIZABETH being first privately examined, which was admitted to Record

      KNOW ALL MEN by these p:sents that I JOHN JONES of County of ESSEX am held and firmly bound unto ARMSTEAD CHURCHILL of County of MIDDLESEX. Gent,. in the sum of Two hundred pounds Sterl money to the which payment well and truely to be made I bind my self my heirs firmly by these presents; Sealed with my seal dated this xxviii day of November Anne Dom. MDCCXX1
      THE CONDICON of the above obligation is such that if the above bound JOHN JONES and ELIZABETH, the Wife of said JOHN. shall observe and keep all the Covenants which on their part ought to be observed and kept comprized in one Indenture of Release made between JOHN JONES and ELIZABETH his Wife and ARMSTEAD CHURCHILL according to the true meaning of the Indenture, then this Obligation to be void, else to remain in full force and vertue
