      THIS INDENTURE made this Nineteenth day of October in year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred & Seventy Eight Between GEORGE ROBERTS & ELIZABETH his Wife [widow] of County of Culpeper, Executors of the last Will & Testament of GEORGE ROBERTS deceased, of one part & BENJAMIN ROBERTS of said County of other part & by the said Will & Testament the land to be sold Witnesseth that GEORGE ROBERTS & ELIZABETH ROBERTS for sum of Ninety one pounds Ten shillings current money of the Commonwealth of Virginia to them in hand paid by these presents do bargain & sell unto BENJAMIN ROBERTS one tract of land containing Sixty acres more or less being part of a tract of land formerly purchased of JOHN PHILLISON & by him sold to JOHN KIRKE and afterwards purchased of sd KIRKS heirs by GEORGE ROBERTS deced, the land lying in Culpeper County begining at a white Oak Hickory and Dogwood standing on the South side of MOUNTAIN RUN at a mouth to a Gully, runneth thence South sixty West forty poles to a Hickory, thence South fifty five West twenty two poles to a Hickory, thence South thirty two West forty six poles to a Stump in a branch; thence North sixty three degrees West forty four poles to two Hickorys, Thence fifty five degrees West twelve poles to a Dead Oak, thence South seventy four degrees East eighty poles to a red Oak, thence North ten degrees East sixty one poles to a Gum Hickory and white Oak standing on THORNEY BRANCH, thence down the several Courses of the Branch to the Run, thence up the said Run to the Begining To have and to hold the said tract of land with all houses orchards and improvements whatsoever thereunto belonging unto BENJAMIN ROBERTS his heirs In Witness whereof the said GEORGE ROBERTS &ELIZABETH his Wife have hereunto set their hands and Seals the day & year aforesaid
