      KNOW ALL MEN by these presents that we STEPHEN CHENAULT & ANTHONY SAMUEL are held and firmly bound unto THOS. WARING, JOSHUA FRY, MUNGO ROY & PHILIP JONES gent Justices of the County of Essex in the sum of ten pounds Sterl Witness our hands& seals this Eith day of February MDCCXXXVIII THE CONDITION of this obligation is such that if ye above bound STEPHEN CHENAULT Guardian of STEPHEN CHENAULT his heirs shall well & truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said Orphan all such Estate or Estates as soon as the sd Orphan shall attain to lawfull age or when thereunto required by the Justices of the peace of the County of Essex as also to save & keep harmless the sd Justices from all trouble that shall or may arise about the sd Estate then this obligation to be void and of none effect .

      IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN. I JOHN CHENAULT of Essex County being sick and weak in body but of perfect sence and sound memory thanks be to Almighty God
      for the same do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say first and principally I commend my Soul to God that gave it me and my body to the Earth to be Christian like buried at the discretion of my Executrix hereafter named and of the worldly goods whence with it hath pleased God to bless me I dispose of as followeth.
      ITEM I give and bequeath unto my Loving Wife ANNE CHENAULT and to my Son JOHN CHENAULT and to my Daughter ELIZABETH CHENAULT all my goods and chattles of what kind Soever to be equally divided among them my said Wife and my said Son and Daughter.
      ITEM I constitute and appoint my loving Wife ANN CHENAULT whole and sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament. IN WITNESS whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this 27th day of March in the year of our Lord Christ 1740

      proved by the oaths of STEPHEN CHENAULT and STEPHEN CHENAULT JUNR. two of the
      Witnesses thereto is admitted to record
