      Will of Edward Goldman of the Parish of St. Ann's in the County of Essex, being sick and weak in body, dated 3 Nov. 1709.
      All my lands I hold by patents in this neck unto my son Francis.
      Unto my son Thomas all the lands I hold in Pannell's patent.
      The lands which I hold in the range be sold and added to my personall estate.
      To my brother Francis my halfe of the mill, he paying to my executors £30 sterling.
      Unto my beloved wife Martha seven Negroes according to the quality of the whole dureing her natural life.
      Unto my sonns Francis and Thomas my other fourteen Negroes to be equally divided, and the reversion of the Negroes given to my wife to descend unto my sons equally. The whole belonging to my children be wholy invested and managed by my brother Francis.
      Unto my beloved wife the Japan cabinett and £20 sterling.
      Unto Peter Godfrey for his trouble £3 sterling.
      Unto Rebecca Tomlin twenty shillings to buy her a mourning ring.
      Unto my sister Mary Goldman twenty shillings to buy her also a mourning ring.
      Unto Mr. Saml. Thacker and his wife each of them twenty shillings for the use above mentioned.
      All the rest of my personal estate with the proceeds of the mill and land when sold with what moneys I have in England be equally divided betwixt my beloved wife and two children.
      In case my wife should be with child, if it lives it shall have an equall part of my personall estate with my two sonns and an equall part of the land with my present youngest sonne.
      What tobacco I have be shipt home on the account and risque of my beloved wife and children to be equally divided.
      The interest of my sonns' estates be only apply'd to their education and the overplus if any be to be paid unto them.

      That Thomas Waring manage certain property for Francis and Thos. Gouldman until they are 21. "and if it so happen that the sd Thomas Waring shall dye before my sd two kinsmen attain the age aforesd that then my Sister Martha Winston shall take care of their Estates" Refers to Francis and Thomas Gouldman as the orphans of his late brother.       THIS INDENTURE made the fifteenth day of July 1724 Between FRANCIS GOULDMAN of the County of Essex Gentleman of one part & JOHN TAYLOE of the County of Richmond Gentleman Witnesseth that the said Francis Gouldman for & in consideration of ending all Disputes and Controversys between him and the said Jno. Tayloe concerning the bounds of their Lands they having reciprocal pretentions & claims into each others bounds and for the settling the same in an amiable manner and to prevent the trouble charge & risque of Law Suite concerning the same hereafter as also for the sum of five & twenty pounds Currt. money to him the said Francis Gouldman in hand paid by said John Tayloe hath confirmed unto sd John Tayloe his heirs & assigns forever all the land which the said Francis Gouldman holds or claims or pretends to claim or have right to within & between the bounds of ANDREW GILSONs Pattents, the bounds of a Pattent granted to EXUM & GODWIN in May 1650 (under which the said Francis Gouldman claims three hundred & eighty acres) and the Courses & natural bounds of the Creek anciently called TIGNERS, afterwards GILSONS and now called and known by the name of Mill Creek so farr up the said Creek and the bounds of the sd Pattents. as to where the dividing line is between sd Tayloe and Gouldman who now holds the aforesaid Pattent of Exum & Godwin shall cross or intersect the back line of the sd Pattent which shall be extended into the Creek before menconed and for ever hereafter be taken to be the mutual settlement and unalterable bounds between the parties their heirs and assigns forever To Hold the before granted lands with the points & Marshes thereto adjoyning containing fifty acres by the right of Francis Gouldman unto sd Jno Tayloe he the said Francis Gouldman by these presents doth grant settle make over & confirm unto EDWARD Son of the sd Francis Gouldman and THOMAS GOULDMAN his Brother of the whole blood or such other peson or pesons to whom the pretentions of claime to the said land shall defend by virtue of the said Entail two young negro women named Bess and Sue and all the Encrease which shall hereafter be born of their bodys to goe & fall & be held & enjoyed by the same pesons as the said Land should by Virtue of the said Entaile nevertheless that such peson or pesons of any of them shall not at any time endeavr to molest or eject the said John Tayloe his heirs or assigns of possession of the said lands or to alter the aforesaid bounds, But in case the said heirs in Tail to whom this said Land or the pretentions or claims thereto shall defend shall disturbe sd John Tayloe in the possession of the sd lands the said Francis Gouldman doth by these presents give the two negro women and all their increase unto the sd Jno Tayloe forever

WILLIAMS the sd WILLIAM WILLIAMS his part being sold & conveyed unto ED. GOULDMAN deced as by a Deed of Division between RICHARD COVINGTON & JAMES BOUGHAN & ED. GOULDMAN bearing date the 9th day of August one thousand seven hundred & Eight being had from the Essex Record will & may more at large appear the sd FRANCIS GOULDMAN the Son & heirs at law of the sd ED. FRANCIS GOULDMAN deced had a Quarter. thence up the sd Branch to the main Middle Fork of OCCUPACY RUN, thence up the sd Swamp to the place where it first begun with all woods, swamps, marshes, Trees growing and Emoluments whatsoever belonging To Have and To Hold unto the sd THOMAS STHRESHLY JUNR. and to his heirs & assigns for ever & dureing the Natural lives of THOMAS STHRESHLEY and WILLIAM STHRESHLEY Sons of the said THOMAS STHRESHLY JUNIOR party to these presents and TAMMASEN STHRESHLY his Daughter and the life of the longer liver of them paying yearly dureing the lives aforesaid unto the sd FRANCIS GOULDMAN and his heirs of his body lawfully begotten on the twenty fifth day of March and if it shall happen that the yearly rent of three Shillings be behind by the space of thirty days sd FRANCIS GOULDMAN into the parcel' of land to reenter and the same to have again, In Witness whereof the ptys have set their hands and Seals
