      Sept. 21, 1780. Samuel Coleman of Caroline Co. to Aquilla Johnson, Senr., of Spts. Co. £420 curr. 13 a. in Spts. Co., bounded by lands of George. Goodloe, Mrs. Roy and Warrens' Swamp, etc. No witnesses. Sept. 21, 1780.

      Oct. 14, 1777. Samuel Coleman of Caroline Co. and Sarah, his wife, of first part; Ambrose Smith and Isabella, his wife of Spts. Co., of second part; Thomas Towles of Spts. Co., of third part. Whereas, Robert Coleman of Caroline Co., being seized, etc., of a tract of land in Spts. Co., granted him by pat. dated Decr. 2, 1723, did by deed dated Dec. 28, 1745, grant unto John Coleman of Spts. Co., his son, 316 a., part, thereof bounded by lands of Richard Coleman and Robt. Coleman, jr., which tract of land John Coleman, died, seized and possessed, did by his laat will and testament, among other things, direct all his land equally divided among all his children, the sd. tract or parcel of land was allotted to sd. Samuel Coleman, son of the sd. John Coleman, decd., etc., and whereas, Richd.. Coleman, being seized of another tract, part of the same patent abt. 320 a. did convey the same to Ambrose Smith, 140 a., part thereof sd. Smith sold to sd. Saml. Coleman, but made no conveyance, since which the sd. Thos. Towles hath purchased of the sd. Samuel Coleman, the two sd. tracts, 316 a. and 140 a. for the sum of £190 curr., sd. Smith agreeing to make conveyance, etc. Anthony Winston, Saml. Winston, Eliza Winston, Thomas x May, James Smith, John x Smith. Sept. 21, 1780.
