THIS INDENTURE made Fifteenth day June 1778 Between WILLIAM ROBERTS Gent of County of Culpeper Agent and Attorney in Fact for EDWARD TANNER Gent of Kingdom of Great Britain of one part and WILLIAM DANIEL of said County of other part Witnesseth that said William Roberts for seventy five pounds current money of Virginia for the benefit of the said Edward Tanner doth as Attorney in Fact confirm unto said William Daniel One hundred acres in County of Culpeper and Parish of Bromfield in the Little Fork of Rappahanock River and on Branches of Battle Run the same being part of Ten thousand acres granted by the Right Honourable THOMAS LORD FAIRFAX Proprietor of the Northern Neck in Virginia to JAMES COMPTON Esquire of Great Britain and by said Compton was granted unto aforesaid Edward Tanner and said Five hundred acres is bounded begining at three red oaks on a ridge and runs North to a Chesnut on the ROUND MOUNTAIN thence East to two red oaks in THOMAS PEYTONs line thence with his line South crossing the said Mountain North to the Begining place .
