      Indenture made January 4, 1782; whereas John Dorsett, planter of PGCo is seized of tracts in fee simple; "Orchard", "Quick Sale", "Twyford", "Littleworth" and part of "Good Luck" except such part as belongs to his mother Mary Dorsett in her right of dower which part has never been laid off together with the improvements and appurtenances belonging whereof best and legally belong to the said John as heir at law to Thomas Dorsett, deceased. Be it known therefore that John Dorsett in consideration of 3500 pounds gold currency has sold unto Walter Brooke Cox the aforesaid tracts; "Orchard" containing 190 acres and beginning at a bounded white oak and bounded by land formerly laid out for George Collings; "Quick Sale" containing 51 acres beginning at the northeast bound tree of "Mansfield" and bounded by land formerly belonging to Harris to whom the said tract was granted and the "Orchard"; "Twyford" containing 198 acres and beginning at a marked white oak one of the bounded trees of "Orchard" and bounded by "The Farm"; "Littleworth" containing 20 acres and beginning at a bounded pock hickory of "Orchard" and bounded by "The Farm" and "Twyver"; and also part of "Good Luck" containing 39-5/8 acres and conveyed by Benjamin Evans to John Dorsett in 1691 being bounded as per the above deed and running agreeable to the courses of the same as lies below the main road now intersecting the said tract and leading from Nottingham to Magruder's Warehouse.       Indenture made September 12, 1782; between Mary Dorsett, widow late widow of Thomas Dorsett, Sr. deceased of one part and John Dorsett eldest son of the said Thomas Dorsett, Sr., planter of the other part. Whereas controversies have arisen respecting lands late the property of Thomas Dorsett, Sr. this indenture witness that Mary Dorsett in consideration of the natural love and affection she beareth unto the said John Dorsett her eldest son and for diverse other good causes and weighty considerations her thereunto inciting and also for 5 pounds specie currency has just charged and released unto him by these presents all and every part of the 5 following tracts and parts of tracts now in her possession and Walter Brooke Cox, to wit; "Orchard", part of "Good Luck", "Quick Sale", part of "Twiver" and "Littleworth" and beginning as they are described in a deed from John Dorsett to Walter Brooke Cox dated January 6, 1782 except so much land meant to be assigned for the dower of Mary Dorsett during the natural life of her.
