      Indenture 22 March 1743 between ELIJAH DANIEL of Caroline County and MARY, his wife, and EDWD. SPENCER and JAMES COLEMAN, Gentl., Churchwardens of the Parish of St. Thomas, County of Orange.
      Whereas Act of the General Assembly intitled "An Act for the Better Support of the Clergy of this Dominion and for their more Regular Collecting and Paying the Parish .." It where good .. Glebes are not already purchased, and appropriated on good and convenient .. land, to contain 200 acres at the least, any may be purchased by the Vestry, and shall be assigned, and set apart for a Glebe for the use of the minister
      of such Parish, his successors, by the said Act .. and whereas the Vestry of the Parish of St. Thomas aforesaid .. hath agreed with .. ELIJAH DANIEL to purchase of him 307 acres for the
      use .. In consideration of 20,000 pounds of Tobacco Levyed by the said Vestry on the Tithable persons in the said Parish ..
      Indenture witnesseth .. in consideration of 20,000 pounds of Tobacco .. paid by sd Edward Spencer and James Coleman, Church Wardens .. 307 acres of land, Parish of St. Thomas, land conveyed to Elijah Daniel by William Daniel of Caroline County by Deeds 27th and 28th October 1734 .. bounded ..
