      Thomas Washington's Will
      In the name of God Amen, the third day of February 1791, I Thomas Washington being sick in body but of good and sound memory do make constitute ordain and declare this my last will and testament.
      Item I lend all my estate unto my loving wife Anne Washington during her natural life and at her decease it is my will that my son Thomas Muse Washington shall have the land that I now live on to him and his heirs forever, but if default of such heirs then it is my will that my daughter Jemima Jenkins shall possess and enjoy the same.
      Item I give unto my son Thomas Muse Washington, a small lot of land that is joining the crossroads bounded as follows, running from the crossroads down the main road, towards Thomas Omohundro’s to a small path and along the said path till coming to the Maddox Road and down the said road unto the crossroads, and the remaining of that land I give to my daughter Elizabeth Washington, and at the decease of the said Thomas Muse Washington it is my desire that small lot of land shall return unto the said tract was taken out of and if the said Elizabeth Washington should die and leave no heirs of her body it is my will and desire that my daughter Anne Washington shall possess the said land.
      Item I give unto my son William Washington the money that is due me from John Walker’s estate, it being the money due his mother from her father’s estate. Likewise, one cow and calf or the value of the same.
      The rest of my estate, if any, at the decease of my wife Anne Washington, it is my will and desire to be equally divided between my daughters Jemima Jenkins and my daughter Anne Washington. Given under my hand and seal the day and year above written.
      I appoint my son Thomas Muse Washington, executor of this my last will and testament.

      At a court held for Westmoreland County the 24th day of June this will was proved according to law by the oaths of Richard Read and Smith Jenkins two of the witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded; and on the motion of Thomas Muse Washington, the executor therein named who made oath thereto according to law and together with Joseph Moxley, Sr., his security entered into and acknowledged bond with condition as the law directs, certificate is granted him for obtaining a probate thereof in due form.
