Indenture made March 15, 1783; Jacob Funk [Funck] of Washington County, Maryland in consideration of the sum of 5 pounds current money paid by Jacob Hess the State of Virginia has sold "Lot Number 258" in the Town of Hamburgh, 80 feet front on Walnut Street and 230 feet back to Locust Street subject to a yearly quit rent of one half penny sterling from September 29 next.
