Prince George's County, Maryland Land Records 1793-1794; Liber JRM 2 {Abstract by Mike Marshall}; Page 371. At the request of Henry Purdy the following Deed was recorded December 31, 1793
Indenture made September 27, 1793; Whereas the late Robert White, father to James White, planter did many years ago give a lot in Beall Town near Bladensburgh unto the late James Cusick whose widow intermarried with the late Henry Purdy, father of Henry Purdy, shoemaker who is the eldest son, but his brother in law, Matthew Cusick [Cusack] s/o James Cusick [Cusack], deceased who has not been heard of for 14-15 years if living is heir at law to the said lot which was in the possession of James Cusick [Cusack] at his death and afterwards by the late Henry Purdy at his death but the same never deeded. Therefore Jame White in order to fully comply with the intention of his father and 5 shillings has assigned the aforesaid lot. Signed James White in the presence of and acknowledged before Isaac Walker, Rd Cramphin and at the same time Eleanor White w/o James White relinquished her right of dower

Indenture made October 8, 1793; Henry Purdy, shoemaker in consideration of 30 pounds lawfull money of Maryland paid by John Barber has sold a lot in Beall Town near Bladensburgh containing 2 acres lately conveyed to him by James White, Sr. Signed Henry Purdy in the presence of and acknowledged before David Craufurd, John Smith Brookes
