1774-1780 Prince George's County, Maryland Land Records Liber CC 2 [Abstract by Mike Marshall]; Page 199. At the request of Enoch Magruder the following Deed was recorded October 30, 1775
Indenture made October 28, 1775; Nehemiah Trahern, cabinetmaker in consideration of 154 pounds 10 shillings current money of Maryland paid by Enoch Magruder, planter has sold part of a tract called "Battersea" containing 51 ½ acres and 36 square perches and bounded a large white oak (called Dear Skin Tree) standing on the east side of the main road leading from Broad Creek Church towards Piscattaway, the Northern most corner of said tract formerly sold and conveyed by Thomas Lewis and his brother Richard Lewis unto Thomas Stonestreet and now in possession of John Stonestreet, the south west side of a road leading from Broad Creek towards the Woodyard. Signed Nehemiah Trahern in the presence of and acknowledged before Luke Marbury, Thomas Clagett and at the same time Amelia Trahern w/o Nehemiah Trahern relinquished her right of dower

Indenture made October 17, 1778; Nehemiah Trahern, planter in consideration of 700 pounds current money paid by Edward Magruder, merchant has sold a tract called "Vainall" containing 109 ½ acres and beginning at a white oak stump near Broad Creek Church and bounded by "Battersea"; also the remaining part of Battersea which was on sold unto Enoch Magruder by the said Nehemiah Trahern being that part of the land lying over the main road leading from the Woodyard to Broad Creek containing 7 acres and 44 perches. Signed Nehemiah Trahern in the presence of and acknowledged before Thomas Clagett, William Lyles, Jr. and at the same time Amelia Trahern wife of Nehemiah Trahern relinquished her right of dower
