      KNOW ALL MEN by these prsents that I WM. LANE for yt, consideracon of Twelve hundred pounds of good sound Tobacco & Caske the Receipt whereof I hereby acknowledge & contented therewth have bargained and sold unto JOHN HARDESTY his heires & assigns for ever Eighty acres of Marsh & woodland ground more or less being part of a great Patt: belonging to the sd Mr. WM. LANE (vizt) a poynt of land lying at the mouth of (----tick) CREEKE and adjoyning the land formerly THOS. HOPKINS & bounded by the River Rappa. & yt. sd Creeke with a line of trees that divides ye sd Patt of land from ye land of HOPKINS To Have and To Hold the sd 80 acres more or less to him ye sd JOHN HARDESTY & his heires in as full & ample manner as may be collected out of the Patt. & the sd WM. LANE doth covenant with ANNE his Wife yt. they will from tyme to tyme & at all times hereafter keep harmless the sd JOHN HARDESTY his heires & assignes forever and yt. they will upon demand of the sd JNO. HARDESTY make other assurances in ye County Court of Rappa. of this their Deed yt. sd JNO. HARDESTY his heires dischargeing the quits rents & taxes yt. shall be imposed on ye sd land by Patt. In Witness whereof wee heereunto sett or hands & seales this 18th of November 1666

      I JOHN HARDESTY within mentioned for & in consideration of ye sums of Fourteene hundred pounds of Tobbo: and caske to me in hand pd ye wch I acknowledge Received doe by these prsents assigne consigne make over and deliver unto time tenure & possession of GEO DAVIS Phicitian his heires all my right title claims & interest in & to ye conveyance or Deed of sale within written all and singular ye contents therein mentioned to Have and To Hold as his proper use & behoofe & as his owns proper Estate forever I doe further hereby oblige my selfe to make sure all & every part of this my act & deed by acknowledging ye same to the sd GEO: DAVIS his heires at ye next Court held for the County of Rappa & thereby to asure and Defend the title & interest hereunto of ye sd DAVIS his heires forever from me my heires or any other pson laying any claime thereunto In Witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale this 1 of 8br 1667

      The Assignmt. made by Mr. JNO. HARDESTY to Mr. GEORGE DAVIS & his heirs is by these psents likewise assigned & made over from me and my heirs to MARTHA DAVIS & her heires in as full & ample manner as is expressed in ye sd Assign mt to Mr. GEO: DAVIS.
