Note: I have found records of a David and Joseph in Charles Co. and believe them to be son's of Hugh I. Listed in Tax records 1733, Port Tobacco,Charles County, along with John for "Want Water" is David. Also listed for "Wales","White Oak Plaine","Richards Delight" is Joseph Thomas. Joseph's last listing in Port Tobacco tax records is in 1758. Joseph is listed as next of kin in the will of John Cofer. "Fortune" goes from Hugh I, to John Sr., to John Cofer and Elizabeth Thomas Cofer. At the time of John Cofer's will, I find Hugh II, David, John Sr., James, and Margery are gone. Joseph is an elder at this time and since I do not know of any cousin's to Hugh I's children in Charles County, I have come to believe Joseph is Elizabeth's brother. What do you think? Have you come across these records? I have searched hundreds of family trees and records and I always come to the same conclusion. P.S. There is also a Morris Thomas in Port Tobacco but I have yet to find a connection to the family of Hugh I.

James Thomas married Sarah Carr. Her father was William Carr, mother is Sarah Eskridge. Westmoreland County Wills in Ancestry.com has Williams will. He leaves "To daughter Elizabeth Carr (married to John Jr.Bayley/Bayly (Bailey) the plantation where David Thomas now liveth, 100 acres by estimation. It doesn't state which plantation. He owned three or more. He left his dwelling plantation to his son Joseph Carr. He left one to Sarah Carr (daughter) "that plantation now in possession of William Gardner." So, this shows David was of the age of James and living on a plantation belonging to his father in law. Had to be family. The will of William Carr is dated 13 Jan 1702 and was proved 24 Feb 1703. Sarah Eskridge Carr will dated 1 Jan 1726 and proved 29 Mar 1727. Joseph Carr will dated 21 Sept 1741.
