1785-1787 Prince George's County, Maryland Land Records Liber HH [Abstract by Mike Marshall]; Page 277. At the request of Sarah Contee the following Deed of Gift was recorded March 27, 1787
I Richard Alexander Contee in consideration of the natural love and affection I have and bear to my daughter Sarah Contee and 5 shillings has given Negroes; Charity and her sons Sam and Sye; Will her grandson; Jenny and her four sons, Fryday, Hercules, Jerry and Harry; Amy and her child Amy; Fanny and her child Nace; Milly and Nace children of Pat; and Jem brother to Fanny. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this March 7, 1787, Richard Alexander Contee in the presence of John Smith Brookes, Beale Brashears and acknowledged before John Smith Brookes
