      Charles County, Maryland Land Records 1814-1817; Liber IB-11 {Abstract by Mike Marshall}; Page 505. At the request of Theodore Burch the following Marriage Contract was recorded January 11, 1817
      Indenture tripartite made December 21, 1816; between Theodore Burch of the 1st part, Rebecca Ann Ward of the 2nd part and Joseph Watson of the 3rd part all of Charles County. Whereas a marriage is agreed upon and intended shortly to be had between Theodore Burch and Rebecca Ann Ward and it is agreed between them that all the real and personal estate belonging to Rebecca Ann Ward which she may be entitled to as one of the representatives of her father Joseph Ward late of CC deceased the property being not yet distributed nor a division of the same made. Now this indenture witness that in pursuance of the said agreement and in consideration of $5 paid by Joseph Watson and for diverse other good causes and considerations the said Rebecca Ann Ward hereunto moving; and with the privity and consent of Theodore Burch has sold unto Joseph Watson all the real and personal estate belonging to Rebecca Ann Ward in trust to pay and support of the said Rebecca Ann Ward and her heirs until the intended marriage shall be had and from and immediately after the solemnization for the use and support of Theodore Burch and Rebecca Ann Ward during their coverture and after the expiration thereof whereupon the death of either of them to the uses of the heirs of the said Rebecca Ann Ward.
