      Know yee that I JAMES JONES of Essex County do for ye valuable consideracon of Three thousand Four hundred pounds of tobacco and caske in hand paid or secured to be paid, by these presents make over unto JOHN SPENCER of RICHMOND County, One hundred acres of Land lying in ye County of Essex, Begining upon POORE TOBACCO SWAMP and adjoyneing upon JOHN COGELLs Line till it comes to ye extend of WILLIAM CLAPHAMs, And so to take his equall bredth upon the back line & ye sd Swamp till it compleats One hundred acres, To have and to hold the sd. Land with all houses orchards fencings and appurtenances to ye abovesd.
