Page 252-254 In Name of God I PHILIP ALEXANDER of saint Pauls Parish in County of Staf ford being sick but of sound memory do make my Last Will & Testament in manner following that is to say First I give to my Eldest Son JOHN ALEXANDER all that tract of land whereon I now live with all the lands I have purchas'd thereto adjoyning together with all appurtenances. Also I give my second son PHILIP ALEXANDER all my lands with the appurtenances .. thereunto belonging in Parish of Truroe & County of Fairfax to hold forever. 1 also give my son Philip a tract of land containing 1051 acres which I bought of Mr. ROBERT MASSEY with all appurtenances being at Brent Town in the County of Prince William to hold forever I also give unto my third son WILLIAM ALEXANDER a tract containing 1075 acres which I bought of Mr. RICHARD FOOTE Attorney of SAMUEL HAYWARD, Consull at Gant with all appurtenances belonging being at Brent Town in County of Prince William to hold forever. I also give to my Daughter FRANCES STUART a morning ring besides her fortune already paid. I also give to my Daughter JANE ASHTON as much money as will make her fortune of 500 pounds which Ballance will appear in Mr. HENRY ASHTON'S account where I have paid near all the sum above mentioned. I also give to my daughter SARAH FENDALL as much money as will make her fortune up five hundred pounds which ballance will appear in Mr. JOHN FENDALLS account. All the rest I desire may be equally divided among my said three sons as they come of age, and as for the slaves that shall be allotted My dear Wife SARAH ALEXANDER as her thirds thereof my desire is that after her decease they the third part of the slaves and increase may be equally divided amongst my three sons. It is likewise my will that my three sons be constantly kept at school until they come to the age of 18 years, and then bound or put out either to a Doctor County Court Clerk or a Lawyer which they shall choose at that age until they arrive at age of 21 years and I do appoint Sarah Alexander my said Wife, John Alexander my said son & my friends Mr. RICHARD BERNARD, Mr. RICHARD FOOTE, Colo. HENRY FITZHUGH JUNR. & the Revd. WILLIAM STUART Executors of this my last Will & Testament .. and lastly I do hereby revoke all wills made by me formerly .. 12th July 1753.
